Out, beer. I like browns and bitters (especially >7% stuff) but almost anything will do. Canned/bottled lager is fine if it's cheap enough, especially if it comes with a shot of shitty whiskey for <5$. If I am wearing a suit and drinking with people I want to be impressed by me, negronis and manhattans and shit.

At home, anything goes but especially cognac, scotch (islay for preference) and gin-based cocktails

This is my go to beer for Sunday cook outs or having a few after work. Since I don't drink spirits if I'm trying to get drunk I stick to a high abv farm house ale or DIPA.

Probably Blue Moon. If I just wanna get drunk and I'm looking for super cheap, I'll just get miller lites.

Usually beer. I love it, I can drink that shit all night. I also enjoy trying different types all the time, so it doesn't become samey.

If it's hard liquor, usually a bourbon or other whiskey that isn't JD with sprite or other clear soda. I don't like it with cola.

Kegs are expensive, pints aren't, plus the bar is taking care of cleaning and glassware for them, has a larger selection than is feasible to get at home unless you homebrew extensively, and has privileged, sometimes exclusive access to small-batch stuff and things that aren't sold in bottles or that are significantly better on draft.

Versus a G&T where you're just paying the markup to have someone pour the same gin from the same fifth and fill it up with worse-than-schweppes from a gun, then top it with a day-old pre-cut lime wedge.

all depends on how much money i have. $3 or less it's a half-pint of country club gin or a bottle of oak leaf wine, usually merlot. about $10, admiral nelson 101 proof. i rarely spend above $15-20 for booze, so around there is kraken or captain morgan black rum.

Generally one drinks cognac from a snifter or other low shallow glass. the idea is that the warmth from your hand holding the glass releases the aromas
