reviews for the standard buffet are generally scathing. i wouldn't expect too much out of the prime rib; they seem to do that every saturday.

if you go to outback you can at least be sure the beef will be tasty and properly cooked. $25 should get you more satisfaction at a proper restaurant than at depressing casino buffet.

Anyway this is what is deemed a 'loss leader' kind of thing. The real reason they want you to eat there is to make it nice and busy, fill up the tables, gamble, have a fun time such that you are addicted and want to return again for another show or other reason (to gamble), and oh yea, their drinks will not be cheap. Like to drink? Bet you pay a ton for it tonight, and tips on top of that. Seems to be a good deal if you don't drink or gamble. Get in, get out, and stuff yourself.

Upon a closer look, I think outback will be more satisfying. That looks like a rehash of the thanksgiving menu. There's barely any seafood of great value.
You could get a prime rib, plus shrimp coconut deals appetizer, salad, baked potato, no dessert, for about $25, and get waiter service. Plus they have a really delicious horseradish-cream sauce over that at the Outback.

Also since apparently people think I would go out alone on new years (who does that?). I brought my girlfriend.

I know this is a different situation, but I have a fiance and I have a job that takes me all over the country. I go to work alone, without her and our kids. Amazing, right? I eat alone all over the fucking place. I will be damned if I am going to spend weeks at a time going thru fast food drive thrus and this and that. So I go to places while out and staying at hotels..and get this..I eat. I don't get any weird looks. Nobody stares me down or makes fun of me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going out for food alone if you don't feel like cooking or don't have the means to at the time. It's simply a 4chan stigmata type of thing so little kids who are all messed up in the head can make fun of people for doing things they can't. That is all. But yeah..New Years, like I said is a special event and alone would make you want to find a new job or change your life up some so it doesn't happen again. But you weren't. So it's all good. Carry on.

I'm not disagreeing with you, there is nothing wrong with going out to eat alone, but personally I just don't see the point. I feel like part of the experience of going out to eat at a restaurant (as compared to just getting fast food, even if the restaurant is just a buffet) is that you have others with you to bond with. Sharing, and all that.
