still, if I had to eat at a fast Food chain Restaurant, I'd choose burger king - aside from the cheese and meat which are a bit tasteless the big king is actually okay.

Went to a place the other week and had one of the best burgers ever: JT red wine onions, double smoked bacon. Aged cheddar, beer mustard,
Horseradish mayo, tavern chips or salad greens.

I hadn't eaten all day so it was the perfect storm.

Visited the US last month and I still can't get over how simple yet beautiful these burgers were. I woke up craving for one of them double doubles a few times since my visit.

It's a shame that I didn't get to enjoy other burgers because my friends wouldn't eat anything but turkey and chicken because they were too afraid to consume pork, even if it was accidental. I was especially curious about Johnny Rockets and Carl's Jr.

Yeah we're Turkish. It's weird that even though most Turks don't practice their religion they almost always avoid pork. I've long been an atheist so I don't give a fuck, and boy did I love bacon, but they were literally scared shitless of pork.

For instance, one of them ordered a burger in that Jurassic Park themed restaurant in Universal Studios, LA, and he dropped it the instant he took his first bite because it had bacon in it.

Typically if you don't have a barbeque you can cook them on the stovetop or in an electric griddle. A hotplate and a skillet would also work.

If i was cooking for somebody else i would use cast iron, but if its just me a nice teflon non stick is the way to go. Clean up is much easier and its just me.
You can opt for a griddle pan if you want, but I find they're only useful for browning sausages. You miss out on the juice with a burger due to the grooves.
As far as the electric griddle goes, a george foreman will work, so will any one piece griddle.

I use the bbq for beef burgers. For salmon or turkey burgers I'll use a skillet on the stove. Gas heat either way.

if you have a food processor or a cheese grater it's nice to put some shaved onions in your patty.
same goes for the garlic. real thing is always better than the powder.

I like to fry my onions a little bit so i leave the patty plain except for a bit of salt

>>6060915
Yeah, wendy's is basically the same as in n out. it's a very basic burger done well.

I'm not going to participate in the debate, but i will make one statement.
In n out and wendy's do a classic cheeseburger done really well. just the right size, with one main option (animal style)
5 guys is all about big size and customization. the extreme variety of toppings lets you customize a great burger for you. the patties are big, juicy and delicious. the fries are great, peanut oil fried and such.

So yeah, five guys might make the bigger and fancier burger. but that doesn't make it better. It's just different.

in n out is a basic burger done well, five guys is a huge burger, with all the toppings you can eat.

it's literally like comparing scotch and bourbon. in n out is bourbon. it's simple, but it's done so well that you can't get enough of it. five guys is more like scotch, you can make it very complex and tasty, but sometimes its too big a flavor.

neither is better, they just achieve different goals

Had two notable burgers on my trip to Vegas:

One from Gordon Ramsay's BurGR. It had bacon, a fried egg, and some cheese on it. It was alright. Not worth the price, but solid, with fresh ingredients, quality meat, cooked to order perfectly, etc. Ironically I got super addicted to the housemade ketchup that came with my fries, holy fuck. Sure put Michael Symon's burger joint to shame, though.

The second one was an In-N-Out burger. Being a Midwesterner, this was my first time trying this longtime West Coast bragging right... and it was alright. For the price, definitely the best you're gonna get - ingredients were all very fresh and the buns were actually excellent - but it's still a couple-buck burger. Beats McDonald's, though.

As for the best burgers I've ever eaten? One would be at Kuma's Korner in Chicago... Lair of the Minotaur burger. Poached pear, brie, pancetta, and onion. Holy lord, this is like, the lair of a chill minotaur who would welcome you in and watch b-movies with you after smoking a bowl. Sweet and delicious, also absolutely massive.

Other great one was one called the Green Eggs and Ham burger from a local burger chain. Prosciutto, a fried egg, spinach, parmesan, and a pesto aioli. GOD DAMN. Perfection, absolute perfection. I made love to this fucking burger. I'll probably go get it again and do the same thing soon.

Pic related, I can press this down and compress it enough to get my mouth around it.

I work with a lot of middle-easterners and north-africans. They are mostly completely faithless other than avoiding pork. They make luke-warm Christians look like hellfire zealots.

And they're hilariously irresponsible. Frequently eating pork by accident, panicking, and then it's someone else's fault. You can put PORK in big fucking capital letters above one of the employee meal items, they'll eat it, then freak out hours later.

You've spent your whole damned life avoiding it, yet you have no idea what it looks like and despite being fluent in English can't read the fucking signs?

Sorry for the rant, just a dietary irony.

Burger King has so much potential when it comes to this, but the one near me always has dry patties and they don't put on enough condiments to make up for it.

I agree. The "slightly upscale" burger joint fad is getting ridiculous. Tossing a bunch of ingredients on it and charging more does not make you special. Odd ingredients can be fun, but they have to go so far outside of themselves to be unique now, that it's just not making sense. Also
