They're perfectly safe as long as you follow the instructions in the manual.

Prediction for the rest of the thread: One guy on this board refuses to use microwaves and is VERY insistant on it, even if you show him all kinds of scientific studies that show he's wrong. One or more anons will try and persuade this person to no avail. He could be a troll or a misguided person but for the course of this discussion it won't matter.

microwaves don't actually steal the nutrients. they save them. you run the microwave with the door open and it radiates all the nutrients back out. make sure you stand as close as possible or stick your head inside to get the maximum amount of nutrients.

All heating and cooking of food removes some nutrients. That is what happens when food heats up and has chemical changes due to heat and oxidation.

I don't use microwaves for anything other than scrap parts for things like welders. I have pretty much every other type of cooking device though.

You can have metal in a microwave all you want. The problem comes from how the metal is shaped as to if it will arc or not. I've even seen a microwave with a special metal rack in it that worked flawlessly.

Microwaves are inferior in every way but time.

microwaves work by making fat, water, and sugar molecules vibrate. Which causes friction and heat. It also leads to some unwanted textures and flavors. Which is why frozen foods meant for the microwaves contain a lot of shit that isn't food. So that the end product at least tastes and feels right.
