no i would never eat a dog, or any carnivorous mammal for that matter. If it were a matter of starvation then yes of course. But it isnt, so not while there are still other things to eat. I would eat insects before eating a dog.

>no i would never eat a dog, or any carnivorous mammal
seems pretty arbitrary, I'll never get this idea of this meat is ok but this other meat isn't. It's one thing chinks are good for I guess, to show us cats, dogs, whales, frog clitorises etc should be considered a tasty delicacy

>> No.5956843

Fucking nip bastards. They're less human than animals for this. Once Europe gets its shit together we'll start sending the nukes and you can kiss that kind of culture goodbye. Maybe we'll even add in a little bit of slavery and the remaining chinese population (before complete annihilation) will become manufactured into slowly grilled breakfast snacks or toilet paper.

The specific reason humans don't typically eat carnivorous mammals is simple and deals with the animals' predatory nature. This nature should not be taken lightly.
While I'm not saying that all artiodactyls (i.e., swine and the various ruminants, both those in ruminantia suborder and tylopoda) are danger-free, compared to carnivores, the former pose far less risk to humans and are easier to keep in a domestic setting.
Carnivores need meat protein to survive. To keep a pack of carnivores in captivity, they need enough meat on a daily basis so they don't all die. First, why would early humans have fed carnivores meat when they could eat the same meat just as easily? Next, raising a group of carnivores together is difficult, even /with/ adequate meat for them. Early man might try to feed his carnivores only to become the feed himself.
Keeping a flock of sheep or herd of cattle, which graze on grass, something man does not consume, is a decidedly simpler, more cost-effective solution.

That's really the only reason humans don't eat the meat of carnivores. Cost and difficulty. Whether it tastes bad or not is entirely speculative and subjective. Someone else might like the musty, greasy, liver-like flavour of bear. I don't.

yeah well we learned to eat grains, tons of dairy etc since any of that was a issue. Seems like it's nothing more than an "eww, that's icky" problem these days.

This may be a silly question, but I was under the impression that dogs are omnivores.

Are they actually carnivores and omnivores out of necessity? (I.e if food is scarce).

Having said all that, I would give it a try, I don't consider my food to be a pet, it was bred to be eatten im going to eat it. I have a feeling I wouldnt enjoy it though if it has a strong iron-like flavor

Umm dogs are carnivores, and need meat to survive. Bio Magnification, any pollutants in the food chain increase in animals higher up on the food chain. So i would rather eat herbivores because they are not as vulnerable to parasites and other things that could be passed on from prey to predator

Bear is gamey and awfull. Its better than buying meat but not by much.

>> No.5958015

>>5957244
Talk to an about it. As i understand it a balanced diet is good for dogs. Cats however do not go out of their way to eat non meat. So yes they are omnivores

>> No.5958051

>>5957247
You are mixing pollution and parasites. The food chain has nothing to do with parasites. They are equally represented in any stratum because they aren't transmitted by predatory consumption for the vast majority of them.
