What happened to McDonald's doing breakfast all day? I remember reading about it in a newspaper circa 2006. Would it be a bad idea?

>> No.5955892

I don't eat a Mickey D's but I keep on wanting to try their pancakes and hash browns for nostalgia sakes. I haven't eaten it since I was like 5 to 7 years old. Alas I don't wanna visit early in the morning. I'm a teacher so I don't have the time anyway; no breaks and having to be at school before 8

Breakfast is the only thing McDs does right but you only have a 6 hour window in the day to get it an I am busy sleeping, commuting, or working during that time. I bet if they offered all day breakfast at their bigger and busier 24h venues there would sell a shitload of breakfast items.

If not the entire breakfast menu all day then the McGriddle and BLT Bagel would be decent.

>> No.5955923

>>5955875
They might think it would damage their reputation for their more "classic" menu items. They'd probably rather have people think of a Big Mac than a McMuffin when they hear the word McDonalds.

>> No.5955927

>>5955875
Money. What other reason would there be?

The McD's kitchen can't operate at full speed while serving both menus, and McD is all about speed. Some locations will do it at night, but that's because business is slower at night.

>>5955927
Yup, they did a study and found all day breakfast to be uneconomical.

>> No.5955963

>>5955923
Dont think this is the reason, but i'd definitely choose a sausage and egg mcmuffin over a big mac at any time of the day

>> No.5955968

It may be because they use the same cooking equipment for the breakfast menu as the regular menu but can't use both for some reason

One of my workmates is convinced it's because of muslims though

Something about they can't cook breakfast foods on the same "grill" as their lunch
I'm assuming it's for quality control

>> No.5955985

>>5955979
They use some different equipment for breakfast and lunch menus, so if they had both operating at the same time that's more stations needed in the kitchen and like >>5955927 said they can't put out orders and quickly/efficiently. Just bad for their particular business model.

To which website can I go for people who don't talk about nothing but fast food all the time, some place where they talk about actually cooking food instead?

It'd be mass chaos in the kitchen. You got your early workers who know breakfast but not lunch, and your afternoon workers who know lunch but not breakfast. Now try combining them and everyone's stuff has to be done first. The place would literally burn down from the hostile friction between employees.

>> No.5956075

You want breakfast at 4pm? Go to Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel.

if its one of the bigger mcds it could work. obviously you keep a extra staffer or two.

could generate extra business. think of all the people who might consider it instead of going to dennys or ihops. mayhaps run a trial and offer all day breakfast on a saturday or sunday?

>> No.5956822

Yeah, I come to McDonalds for some fries and mcnugget. If they don't offer these because of some stuff breakfast deal, then fuck them and I would head to the burger king next door.

a man used to be able to go into mcdonalds and order a simple round egg on a biscuit

it was the greasiest, most delicous breakfast treat around.
now i have to settle for either a sausage muffin or a sausage griddle :(

What the fuck is up with this shit? Why don't they have a grace period? Do they just throw all their breakfast food out or something? It's fucking asinine

I work at a different place, but they probably make food to order. And once the grill temp changes you are not getting any breakfast.

so does anyone know what that sauce they put on the bacon/egg/cheese (and presumably the other) bagels is? it's yellowish and kinda skeeves me out because i have no idea what the fuck it's supposed to be.

i think i've ruled out bodily fluids since it's been on my sandwich at separate mcd's

Have you ever seen how they make mcdonalds breakfast sandwiches? They have stacks of precooked sausage patties sitting on trays. When breakfast ends they just dump all their breakfast shit and switch immediately to burgers.
I've also seen them just throw away all the extra hash browns they fried right at 10:30, right after I offered to buy some. They literally just threw 2 bucks away.

What they should do is close down the pancakes and shit, and just keep: bacon, sausage, egg, hashbrown

and then incorporate them into their regular burgers. A burger with an egg or a hashbrown patty on it would be delicious, or getting a McDouble with one sausage patty and one regular burger

I have. Corporate training ALWAYS says to keep taking orders for an extra 5 minutes in case the customer's clock is off, or some stupid shit like that.
If they don't have anything in the warmer at that point, okay. If I'm rolling in right at the end of breakfast I ask what they have left and they tell me.
This guy was getting his order taken by an asshole wage slave, plain and simple.
