I have the pictured ingredients and have been preparing some sort of soup with chili in mind, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I do not have any beef broth, or canned tomatoes, since of course I didn't look at a recipe before buying ingredients. I do, however, have the following ingredients:

-chicken broth
-shredded cheese
-3 more fresh tomatoes
-broccoli
-eggs
-more chili seasoning mix
-standard chili powder (not specifically for making "chili," just for spice)
-potentially some other minor ingredients, but not much

Can I make chili with chicken broth? Should I just discard the soy sauce cabbage? It doesn't seem like it would really go with chili.

I don't see why you can't use chicken broth. You might not even need it, because of the kidney "broth" though I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

You started by experimenting, I would just continue with it. At this point if I were you I'd combine everything into a single pot, add fluids until I'm happy, and then spice it until I'm happy. In the future I don't think you need to dirty as many pans, when I make chili I usually just use one.

You might need to add more tomatoes to round out the flavour.

Cheese goes on before serving.

That's all I can think of. And use the standard chili powder, I don't exactly know how that deviates from "chili seasoning mix", maybe a lack of a thickening agent?

Just keep doing what you're doing. As long as you're happy with the final taste then you're fine. Chili isn't some exact science, Anon.

Cabbage+celery looks like dumpling ingredients, do you have flour?

For the kind of chili you're making there, which is the kind not made entirely of meat, you have far too few beans.

I have no idea what's going on in the bottom right there but i would pick out the potato+rice, add the chicken broth and seasoning, and get more beans. If you don't have more beans then I guess puree the starches and dump them back in

btw i am not saying you should make dumplings and put it in your chili, that would be disgusting. the mix minus starch plus some cumin and your chili powder might actually be edible though
