If I want a super-weak beer, I usually go for an Asahi Super Dry, or Sapporo. Slightly more character than budweiser or miller, but too expensive.

My standard drink has been and will probably be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Good character, easy to drink 4 in an hour if I wanna get plastered, and gets buzzed without getting drunk if I drink at my normal pace of a beer every 30-40 minutes.

It's so good that when I run across some abomination of burnt rubber and recycled toilet seat hops, I can mix it with SNPA and make it taste decent enough to enjoy.

Was talking to a friend about this the other night. Both of us are college seniors and never bought anything but bud and coors until about 2 years ago.

Anyway, we both agree: bud and similar beers are a waste of fuckin money. They taste like shit, have lower alcohol content, and aren't any less expensive when you take into account the higher alcohol content of some craft beers.

I'll never drink a budweiser or coors or anything like that even again, unless it's free.

I work at a liquor store that has staff parties with "breakage" every 6 months or so. Around this time last year I considered myself lucky when I found, after 4 trips to the bathtub full of beer, 4 335ml bottles of La Fin du Monde. Needless to say I had a great night that I vaguely remember and an aversion to La Fin du Monde that might someday pass.

Unibroue is damn good though. Sleeman/Sapporo ownership aside they make some great Belgian Strongs.

The trick is to start with lower alcohol and then work your way up. The cardinal sin is to "diminuer", where you go back down in alcohol.

My local beer café has special menus, which are measured in skulls for how badly fucked up you'll be after you finish them. They usually start with the 4% and work up to the rocket fuel.

Got two local beer stores that do the BYO 6 pack thing, so trying a multitude of new beers and logging them on Untappd has been pretty helpful with finding my taste.

It's a craft as Sam Adams. Though their beer tends to be okay, and it's cheaper than say st. arnolds.

This has become my session beer of choice recently. Good balance of lightness versus taste. Also the beer that stopped my slightly snobby prejudice toward lagers.

This is mine, Norwegian beer. It's still a shitty lager but at least it's better than Bud. I don't buy it very often though, I usually just buy four IPAs or porters or something like that instead.
