My daughter just got braces and can't eat anything hard. She needs to eat really soft foods for a week or two. All she's had to eat are soups, mash, and pureed fruit for the past week.

Her teeth are still sensitive and painful. Anybody have any other ideas?

The most annoying thing about her is, that she is a picky eater. She doesn't like pasta or rice. She only eats potatoes but there are just so many ways to prepare potato before it gets old and boring.

Her orthodontist told my wife and I specifically that she was not allowed hard food for a while. For the first month or two she needs to eat moderately soft foods but the first two week she will only be able to eat really soft foods due to the pain.

She has these new types of braces that are very thin. They are supposed to speed up the process while keeping her pain to a minimum.
