>> No.5766403

well first of all we do eat pig skin, but more importantly, mammal skin is sturdier and therefore we normally use it to make leather

Because cow skins tastes like nothing, whereas pork skin is actually eaten and is really delicious.

What do you think these are?

I think the main reason we don't eat cow skin is that it's worth more as leather.

There's not much in life that compares to breaking of a crispy thick piece of pork skin with a layer of tacky salty fat underneath, and biting into it with a hard crunch, even though it chews like taffy

In my country the asado we trow the pig on the grill and eat all. The skin taste like a cracker of fat but if you cover the pork whit condiment and spices the skin its a piece of heaven in your mouth

Yeah getting the stuff in plastic bags are rarely a smart thing. It taste like wood to me . I worked in a food stand and made 3 to 4 flæskestege (pork roasts) a day, to cut up and put in sandwiches. I got really good at getting the skin crispy and tasteful, with out it getting too salty.

Beef skin is inedible if I recall correctly something to do with being way way to chewy. I mean they make leather out of it. I am sure a braise or something might fix it, but you would have to buy it before leather manufacturers get it.
And pork skin is consumed all of the time.
