why did they get rid of these

>> No.5702941

Because you were the only person buying them.

>> No.5702951

So they could make more money when they bring them back

>> No.5702993

>>5702938
because they were like a buck per fucking select

>> No.5702995

I haven't been to McDonalds in years but when I did I always ordered some chicken selects with my meal to munch on later as a snack. I recall them being rather expensive for a McDonalds item.

Burger King stole their supplier to bring back chicken fries. The select grade chicken market is quite competitive, and there are only a handful of select level farms that cater to the multinational fast food market. Perhaps they will come back once the contracts are sent back out for bids.

Its obviously not true, are you actually that gullible?

American chicken barely scratches the select level of poultry grading. There is a larger world around you. Current select breeds are coming from bantams in the Vietnam/Cambodian regions. Not to say there are a few farmers in the European and Australian markets, but you could easily see why their environmental factors are not up to grade.

Your jingoism is clouding an otherwise fascinating topic. Perhaps you enjoy chickens bloated with steroids and water solutions, but in the rest of the world, high quality fast food chicken is no laughing matter. McDonalds in the US actually honored the select label, and I think it should be appreciated. But by all means, you want to hold up your UDSA system as a pillar of great quality, enjoy being ignorant.

Yeah but they didnt. Nice pasta though I'll save if for next time I want to troll.

Pretty sure chicken fries are the processed extruded chicken and selects were actually real chicken like chicken tenders. And McDonalds and quality are not synonymous so people likely went to better places for chicken tenders and only bought the shitty processed nuggets are Mcy Ds.

apparently they didnt sell well and competed with the nuggets

I havent been to McDonalds since they got rid of them and I dont plan on ever going back

Every time I asked for them they always told me it would be a 10 minute wait. I'm guessing no one really ever bought them.

>> No.5704977

I could just buy "selects" at the local Vons/Ralph's. Their" strawberry" nuggets are way better

>> No.5705026

Former McD manager here. The selects never sold, about 30 strips on a good day. If we staged any they went bad, if we didn't then the line got held up for 6 minutes.

Angus burgers were also rare, maybe 10 a day. The vast majority of orders were $1 burgers or chicken.

I expect that the typical McDonald's patron is a value-oriented consumer, and the kids want nuggets made of pink slime, not unpureed chicken

>> No.5705160

>>5705026
I once ordered 10 mcnuggets at like 10 PM and they were one nugget short. The manager asked if it was cool if they replaced it with a select instead. Hell yeah it was cool.

Still the best McD's I've ever been to.

>> No.5705162

>>5705026
I never bought them because it was a price issue, but I can't remember how much it was. I don't go to McD's to get old items for way too much money. I don't think it was as ridiculous as the wing prices, but it wasn't worth it.

DQ makes better strips anyways (and sometimes Sonic's and Arby's).

>> No.5705386

>>5703706
This. I hate McDonalds but I'd eat there once a month for the selects. Sure they were expensive for chicken but they were crispy and crunchy as shit with the right amount of spice. And for some reason McD's buffalo sauce is real good.

People are always like "LOL ENJOY UR FANCER!BLEACHED CHICKEN MEAT MUH GMO FEED ANTIBIOTICS YOU'RE GONNA GET CHICKEN MCNUGGET AIDS MCDONALD'S CHICKEN RAPED MY MOTHER"

But I find McDonald's regular chicken nuggets to be rather tasty. I haven't had them in a long time because I'm not huge on fast food, but I like the perfect crunchiness of them.

I can't eat the McNuggets. Not only is it made from that pink shit but it ALWAYS get a dime size grizzle in at least 1 nugget out of 5 and I gag.

you sound very unlucky.
I eat them all the time and maybe have had 5-10 in 20 years.
Although because I eat them all the time they suddenly became pretty gross.

They aren't made from that pink shit. It's not the 90's anymore. If you ever had mcnuggets in the 90s then you would know the difference in color.
