Let's say you have been eating nothing but beans and rice basically for the last three months and will finally be getting money you can spend on food.

What would be the first thing you would buy/the first meal you would have?

Pic semi related. I was looking for a funny pic but now I feel disgusted with myself for.being tired of rice and beans so I decided I should post this anyways but have you look at that pic before replying.

(Just white enough to more easily sympathize with)

And I'm going to get an 8 piece fried chicken when I get paid from my new job. I'll make one a baked thigh and give it to my cats as a treat.

I would probably buy some pizza and drink some red wine. Actually, drink a lot of it.

Something along the lines of this, depending on paycheck and what else I need to spend it on, but I'd probably still cook it myself. Assuming it's not a giant paycheck, something more like a very rich chili with cheesy cornbread or biscuits and gravy that I can make a bunch of and eat for a few days, with berries and yellow cake with cream cheese frosting as dessert, or some such.
Once I'm done hemorrhaging from my lower intestine, I'd go back to less fatty stuff.

When ive gone extended periods without nice foods, theres always a certain thing that I crave. Each time its different and could be anything. Sometimes it will be a whole box of cereal, or maybe pulled pork, or fresh bread and cheese. It will get in my head that I want it, and I fixate on it until I get it.

It always ends with chocolate though. As much as I can eat before I feel like im going to puke

I had excessive amounts of canned tomato products because I know they are good at flavouring large amounts of food but I'm not particularly fond of foods with a lot of tomato in. Plus I had garlic and onion powder in big containers.

I'm not picky, I can just choose not to eat it so I do so. Fresh tomatoes and baby tomatoes are great though...... certain times of the year.

I've already been fantasizing about my (aldis) grocery list as well.

>1 box of the $1.50 milk chocolate covered butter cookies
> 2 large containers of rolled oats
> Specially selected brand preserves
> bag of sugar> 3 cans of condensed milk, 3 cans of evaporated
>1 container honey Greek yogurt
> pack of bacon
> pack of their polish sausages to try
> 2 bags baby carrots
> 2 avocados
> fresh onions
>green onions
> zuchinni and cucumber
> 3 boxes shells and cheese
> angel hair pasta
> 4 cans of tuna
> green and red pesto
> replenish all seasonings
> acquire taco seasoning
>Some lunch meat
> sliced swiss cheese
> a specialty cheese of theirs as a treat
>Frozen burger patties because awful bit taste alright and easy
> bag of sausage patties for breakfasts
> whole grain bread
> pack of beef and chicken ramen for restoring emergency poor supplies

Of course I'll still need to get
> eggs
>milk
>bananas
>butter
>replenish dried beans/peas/legumes
> cheap frozen veg
> nuts
> dried cherries
> the good strawberry-rhubarb-cherry-candied orange peel jam
> good peanut butter
>new jar of coconut oil
> coconut milk

Aw yeah. I have never actually bought the frozen burger or sausage patties before but I want something that can be cooked quick/assembled/microwaved.

Sorry for the long post guys.... I'm just excited imagining going shopping.....mmmm...

I've been eating mostly beans and rice for years. It's what I like to eat. If I got a bunch of extra money and was determined to spend it at the grocery store I'd probably load up on tempeh and maybe get some chocolate pretzels.

Some things I really like but almost never buy because of their price
soy yogurt
non dairy ice cream

OP, your pic makes me sad. why is there still hunger and starvation in the world today?

It's kind of silly to just assume capitalism is to blame for starving kids. I mean, starving kids aren't very productive. Where's the value in it?

>> No.5696629

>>5696617
Doesn't change the fact that there is a huge gap between rich and poor, especially in India.

I'm not even really pro-communism or anything, but hunger seems to be so fucking unnecessary when you think about that.

>> No.5696652

OP, how isn't that picture funny?

>> No.5696658

>>5696627
Sure. But what causes hunger then?

I'm hungry because I have nothing to eat. I have nothing to eat because either I'm too lazy to buy food or because I have no money. Why don't I have any money? Probably because I have no capital or job. Thus, I have no economic value whatsoever, since I cannot contribute something to the economic circle.

As I've already said, I'm really not pro-communism or anti-capitalism for that matter, I just generalized a bit and put the general "money problem" under the term "capitalism". It's of course much more complex than that.

Hunger, however, is indeed absolutely unnecessary.

Dim Sum

I didn't eat beans and rice for months, but I did eat a very strict diet after a major surgery that imitated yours (no meats, no funs). But once I got the greenlight to eat whatever, dim sum.
Dim sum is heaven.

Damn it. I know you're not that guy, but when you said:
>I've already been fantasizing about my (aldis) grocery list as well.

And then the first item on the list is:
>1 box of the $1.50 milk chocolate covered butter cookies

I lol'd and remembered there was a topic about Binging or Bulimia, or something, and then one poster was excidetly exclaiming that he was planning his once a week (yes, week, not month) binge fest for Saturday, and he was asking for suggestions on what to get.

He then posted an image of his list, which was sloppily written and nearly illegible, and you could see his hambeast of a hand holding the pen.

A day or two later, he posted pics of his spoils, and people then quoted the original post and all called him out on being a fat lardass.

Wish I had screencapped that now.

As for me, I'd get something from my local Korean BBQ Joint. Either Beef Bulgolgi, extra spicy, or if it was Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (only serve it those days), get a Squid or Octopus dinner box (comes with a shit ton of rice, I think some Edame, and then some Mulmandoo)
