Back in the '80s, it was okay to go to McDonald's, because it was better quality and you had hardly anything else to compare it to.

You could just get into your boxy car and go get a Quarter Pounder with beef-fat fries, or some part-white part-dark Chicken McNuggets, and then go home and play Atari or Nintendo or watch Night Court or Transformers.

You will never have that McDonald's, or those days, back.

I just mix 2:1 beef:pork and cook the patties, freeze them for a few days, then microwave for a minute. Microwave once in the bun for 15 seconds.

Tastes like the same if you have the other 'gredients. The nugs are impossible to imitate though. I'd need to get a chicken with organ meat in it, which is hard to find; usually they only sell the whole chickens without the innards.

I remember those days. We have it better now. Wouldn't want them back. McDonald's sucked even back then. The introduction of nuggers was the beginning of them becoming more of a ghetto thing than a middle class indulgence.

Remember in the 80's flavor was a rare thing. The only fresh herb commonly available was curly parsley. Olive oil was exotic. Home cooks were more likely to use garlic powder (or garlic salt) than fresh garlic. Brie was the most exotic cheese you could find. If you weren't Italian drinking wine was suspect. Thai food was cutting edge. Salads were still mostly iceberg lettuce, unless you went to a place with a salad bar, which was a big deal.

Fuck that.

Lol. There was zero transfat at McD's when they were using beef fat to cook their fries. The whole transfat problem was CREATED later, after vegetarians complained that they couldn't have fries cooked in beef fat. They pressured McD's to switch to something else that wasn't beef tallow...and you know what they chose instead? Trans-fats. It's only very recently that the trans fats were removed. The 80's pre-dated anyone using trans fats. That kind of processed shit didn't exist back then.

McDonalds used natural beef fat (zero trans fats) until 1990. 1990 they switched to hydrogenated oil (trans fat). They didn't switch away from that until 2008.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to imply that trans fats didn't exist back then. I meant that trans-fats were not used by any of the major fast-food chains at that time. Transfats were not typically used as frying oil until the late 80's and early 90's when the cholesterol scare and vegetarian "discovery" that McD's fries were cooked in beef pressured them to find something different to use. The desire to switch to a lower-cholesterol vegetarian-friendly frying oil is what created the explosion of trans-fat use in the early 90's.

As far as McDonald's is concerned. But Hydrogenated vegetable oils were very well represented in commercial baked goods throughout the 20th Century. And the stuff was used in fast food deep fryers at places like KFC (and every Chinese take out) until recently.

It's fun to try to pin the blame for trans fat use on vegetarians from the 1990's, but more accurately the blame is on vegetarians from the 1910's - the same assholes who gave us breakfast cereal.

And you are too stupid to vote.

Go emote with your fellow jerkoffs in a progressive drumcircle. BTW, Obammy's change never happened and never will. Gitmo continues. Assassinations have increased. Big business is still just as shielded as ever. You got owned by da big ebil cor-por-a-shuns. Look up the biggest Dem contributors and you won't find a bunch of hippies among them. Dumbass.

Now look at some foie gras and go fuck yourself.

>4chan overcorrects for this and now there's a bunch of /pol/ fucks turning everything into the downfall of white western civ

Welp I guess /ck/ is going to be ruined like other boards.

The funny thing is moonies handing out flowers at airports, that's seriously funny shit. I haven't seen that for a long time but I suspect they're still there somewhere.

Where were you when yuropoors constantly shitpost about amerifats (generally with either cherrypicked examples or plain lies [e.g. the recent pizza thread], overdone steak with ketchup is spammed everywhere, and cup-o-noodles recipes reigned supreme? Nowhere.

Shut the fuck up and go jerk off into your muesli.

I'm well aware of the shit tumblr/reddit does here. I ranted about it in that thread where the loony bitch said microwaves create satan crystals in food.

However your shit isn't any better pal. I don't want to hear your whining just as much as I don't want to hear theirs.

>your shit isn't any better

Yes it is. I've been nothing but honest. I honestly miss McDonald's from back in the day. I honestly miss Styrofoam boxes. I really did own the book I referenced. I'm not shitposting -- I'm responding to morons. There's a wee bit o difference.

BTW, tell me the whiners bitching about my opinions (and that's what they are, opinions) are anything but entitled "progressives" high on their own emotions. I'll put money there isn't a single one that genuinely uses logic in their decisions. They might think they do, but they don't. Been there, seen that, and I know the difference.

I want my fucking beef suet fries back, I want my fucking airplane-making boxes back (btw, disposable coffee cups are still made of styrofoam), and there is nothing worse than a whiner like you that goes to bat in one thread and therefore thinks they're God's gift to chanland.

Go to bed Trevor. Hilary needs you to campaign for her tomorrow, because Reasons.

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about your

>hurrr durrr you're all obongo voters go back to being communists and eating brussel sprouts hippies

That is shitposting. Be the bigger man and ignore them. You're supposed to be better right? Have the better opinions and political outlook? You're supposed to be all rational and logical and not emotional like those babby liberals right? Then why do you have to shitpost?

In the 1920's.

That's like saying because people died from fibrosis in the workplace back in Upton Sinclair's day we shouldn't use fiberglass for insulation.

Try again, douchebag.

Look, I'm not saying leaded gasoline is great, but I am saying a.) I miss it because there isn't a cost-effective substitute that is actually that much better for the environment, and b.) there are soooo many arguments you could use, and you used one that's just plain stupid.

Christ, it's too easy to swat you morons down. Here, have a Big Mac.

And calling me delusional or asking about leaded gasoline on a cooking board isn't shitposting? Really? Where were you, Mr. White Knight? At least I stand up for my statements, unlike you, sniping on the ass end of the argument like a whelp nipping at one's heels.

Oh right, I should ignore those shitposters. Welp, by that logic I guess I should ignore you, too. Nighty night.

Next time you might want to wield your white knight sword a bit less selectively, "pal".

The fumes were harmful. Handling it was harmful. Spilling it on yourself was harmful. I'm not sure why you insist on pretending that wasn't a big deal. It's a pretty simple thing to go back and read about.

>there isn't a cost effective substitute that is better for the environment

...because maybe it wasn't banned for emissions but toxicity. Like I said.

If you're going to do the whole egotistical genius thing on 4chan, at least actually know something first. And I like burgers so stop trying so hard to b8 vegans. It's pitiful. There so many better ways to do it and you chose that one, it's plain stupid.

I've never seen such tipping before. lvl 5 fedora detected.
