Pilot had to divert flight due to bad weather and orders 50 dominos pizzas for the passengers out of his own pocket.

Can you imagine what the American's would be like?
>Ew dominos can't you get a better pizza, maybe local and brick-fired?
>I can't eat pizza because of my diet, where's my option? What do you mean there's no other option? I'm going to leave 1 star review!
>Is the vegetarian pizza vegan? Also, where is the vegetarian pizza?
>People loading up on the pizza before the ones in the back get their fill
>Whole plane reeks of pizza the rest of the flight

Some hokeytown airports don't have food services and literally shut down everything at 9PM. Since this article said the pilot caught these pizza employees just as they were closing? I'm guess there wasnt any food in the airport for the poor 7 hour delayed people who had booked a 3 hour flight with no food service. Peanuts aint gonna cut it. It was quick thinking, and if the airline has any sense, this will be reimbursed to the pilot. They would have had to provide meal coupons or be fined if it had been a functioning airport anyway, but it was a ghost town.

Before you think the pilot is a hero, he is, but he's working for an airline that underpays their pilots, roughly making 1/2 to 1/3rd what Delta pays, so it's a big chink out of his pocket.

Yeah, I'd agree $500 is ballpark. Maybe $750 if he got lots of toppings and some soda.

Nice gesture on his part, even if he does get reimbursed by his employer.
