I get the tongue-in-cheek nature of OP's post, but if we're being serious, I think watermelon gets a bad rap as a black thing. It is at the very least a quintessential southern thing, if not a national thing.

The chicken and watermelon stereotype comes from the era before civil rights legislation, when black people weren't allowed in restaurants. They would pack bag lunches with chicken,(which they would raise themselves for cheap access to meat) and a piece of fruit so they wouldn't need a drink. The fruit was often watermelon because of the high moisture content, and because it is fairly easy to grow.
