What are some dishes that can mix vegetables and meat together well apart from salads? I need to really up my protein in line with my workouts. Most of the vegetables I eat daily are through simple salads. Soups tend to have too little of each.

grill everything! but no really, crockpot stews always work wonders.

kinda cajun stew ------
1b chicken thighs/beef diced,
1 red pepper chopped
1 onion chopped
1 12oz can stewed tomaters
+3 tbs olive oil/butter( preference)
id say pretty much any other vegetable you want chopped in there, chorizo is yummy too
+ seasonings like chili powder and maybe bay leaf

but yeah throw everything in there on low for like 4-6 hours, is tasty over white long grain rice

if you really want to get into it look up bechamal sauce recipes and add some of that into the crockpot.

What are some stews I could on their own? A thick chili-like stew would be great.

Aside from any meal there ever was, ever, maybe check out some paleo recipes. It sounds like that's what you could be looing for

I worded it badly. Basically I'm looking for a go-to meal I could eat every day that covers most of my protein and vegetable needs at once. Some of the stews listed so far sound like a good place to start.

what counts as a real cajun stew

>> No.5563354

A super basic stew that I enjoy is beef (or venison), tomato sauce, worcestershire, garlic, onion, carrots, and potatoes.

You can also do a stir-fry, there are tons of different variations on that.

And then my go-to quick and easy "lazy" meal is simply meat with a side of veggies. I actually really like the blend of "stir-fry" veggies that my local grocery store sells frozen, so I pour out half a bag of that into a pan with fat (olive oil, butter, or animal fat are my preference), salt, garlic powder, dill, and paprika, then cover it until it's all cooked. Place prepared meat on top and then just eat straight out of the pan like a disgusting cave animal

>> No.5563360

frozen peas + chicken turkey meat whatever in a pot with water, bring to boil for a while, then eat with the broth. really good.
