GTFO.

Yes, I do make some salads that have a mayonnaise based dressing. But there's no "two vegetables" about it. I made curried chicken salad sandwiches for lunch today, for example. Here were the ingredients:
Grilled chicken (removed from the bones and chopped)
1 bunch scallions, minced
4 stalks celery, chopped
1 large handful fresh parsley, minced
4 cocktail cucumbers, chopped
1 long yellow pepper, chopped
1/4 cup of minced red onion, for color and flavor
handful of spanish olives, sliced
2 cloves garlic
curry powder (my own blend)
fresh ground black pepper
salt to taste
juice of 1 large lemon, plus some zest
spoonful of apple cider vinegar
2 regular-sized spoonfuls of balsamic mayonnaise

Now, I don't really give a fuck whether or not you like my recipe, but it shows quite well that people don't just combine a protein with a jar of mayo and call it salad. Only the most shit tier of places or cooks would do something like that.

Look everyone, another retard that thinks chopping up some herbs and a cucumber makes it a salad.

That's not what a salad is.

>>5548479
A salad is mostly vegetables. Chicken suspended in mayo with herbs and a bit of herbs/vegies isn't a salad.

You are an idiot.

And as to >>5548467, there five vegetables there, plus herbs, plus spices, plus chicken, plus a little bit of mayonnaise.
You are an absolute dishrag retard if you think salad is only greens and a few other vegetables. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of different types of salad.

Keep eating that chicken-mayo mixture, fatass. I'm sure the "negative calories" from that cucumber will balance it out.

A salad is anything mixed with a dressing. Vegetables have absolutely to do with it.

>> No.5548528

>Salad is a congregation of various foods, that may or may not contain leafy vegetables. Usually served chilled or at a moderate temperature. Many people use the word "salad" to describe light, savory leafy vegetable dishes, most often served with a sauce or dressing, but the term may also refer to dishes made of ingredients such as fruits, grains, meats, seafood and sweets. Though many salads use raw ingredients, some use cooked ingredients; most salads use vegetables, though fruit salads also exist.

>but the term may also refer to dishes made of ingredients such as fruits, grains, meats, seafood and sweets.
Exactly. The term MAY REFER TO those dishes because retards like the people ITT think that slathering tuna or chicken in mayonnaise makes it a salad.

Goddamn, you are the worst sort of person, ignorant AND loudmouthed. It's a shame that the people who scream the loudest are always the absolute DUMBEST.

Also, you fucking mental midget, there are three culinary categories of salads (I'll tell you since you're obviously too stupid to educate yourself):
- Green
- Composed
- Bound

All those salads you listed in your goddamn retarded OP post fall under the Bound Salad category. Go fucking educate yourself.

I make my own mayo with only egg yolks and olive oil if I'm going to use mayonnaise. Usually I make salads dressed with vinegar + oil though. Meat, starch, or vegetable. I just didn't grow up eating it and so its weird to me.

No. Salad initially just meant brining any items in a salty oil-vinegar dressing.

If you ate a bunch of raw vegetables but didn't put a salad dressing on it, it would not be a salad. It would just be mixed greens.
