i can only answer the first question for ya

because the large salt crystals are called 'corns' for some reason.

pre WW2 it was called bullied beef. which is a bastardization of the french 'beef bouillon'.


also i think you need to learn you flags, that's Italy, not Ireland.

I think it's because of the marketing inheritage from all the italian descendants in the US. Most movies/shows have italians as "hearthy family suppers" and french as "sophisticated elegance".

Have you tried any spanish food beside paella?
