The only good cooking shows are on PBS.

They have the best lineup of cooking expertise bar none. The Food Network has no chance

>The Food Network has no chance
>implying the goal of the Food Network's isn't just to run shows of any type, even infomercials, if that gets them the biggest ad revenue

Did you know PBS is supported by taxpayers and the government, as well as contributions from private citizens? That's why no commercials and creative control of the content. I agree with you, PBS has always had the shows I liked the most, but you're not exactly comparing apples to apples here.

I completely agree, I love PBS cooking shows. I used to always watch Martin Yan's cooking segment along with that Hippy Gourmet dude.

I really liked the old ones on PBS and BBC. They actually showed not only how to cook things but technique as well. The new shows and I don't get BBC anymore so can't speak for that but PBS are 100% full of shit.

It's about background music and a constantly moving camera for the ADD crowd that has no attention span.

I really do like the old shows. For the food network, when it first started they just did PBS and BBC stuff and that was good, even one of their first the 1/2 hour shows with Emeril were really good, but then he got hollywooded up and lame and needed a band and a studio audience so then he got a full hour, that was lame shit.

Just my opinion.

Now, food network is worthless. They don't and this applies to new PBS shows as well, have anything without stupid background music and a constant moving robot camera... it's really unwatchable to me.

Justin Wilson!
Oh man, I loved watching his show. He's the reason I started cooking cajun and creole food, and then that led me to go on a trip to Louisiana, which led me to having a fucking awesome time, which I still think about in the fondest ways all these years later.
