I'd bake a kid

/ck/ doesn't bake?

when i was a kid, i remember being the most excited about my grandma's cupcakes. i remember she would curdle the milk with lemon juice, and the result was a super-moist, delicious cupcake. but really, i would recommend simple things for a kid's palate, like biscuits or cheesy bread rolls or something.

/ck/ is a slow-ass board, friend. An hour and two replies means you're ahead of the game
Baking isn't as common here as all the other nonsense though

true, i get the feeling that most of the actual cooks on /ck/ are line cooks. baking is so much more of a science, there's so much attention that needs to be paid to detail. i admire bakers, but i could never get up that early in the morning. i'd rather work a closing shift and wake up at noon every day.

That seems kind of pretentious and arrogant to assume baking is a greater art than all other kinds of cooking

i'm not saying it's a "greater art" than all other forms of cooking. i'm saying it's a more precise and exacting form of cooking. there's more room for error. i mean, shit, loud noises can make a cake fall.

Well, molecular gastronomy can allow for pretty much as much complexity and difficulty as you want it to

funny to call someone pretentious and arrogant and then bring up molecular gastronomy, which is generally known to be "complicated" and "elitist"

Sometimes in imageposts we try irony by setting up for, then tripping, surprising statements. Usually boring as shit. Sometimes funny.

BTW, I like autism.

But good on you for seeing this.

.. and some of us are former line cooks, painting flavours and textures and surprise combinations into our own daily meal drivel.
