Naw.

I like it cold from the fridge, right over the sink. I will halve a melon, carefully wrap up half, move back to the garage fridge to stay as nice as possible til I'm ready for it (only one cut edge).

I take the rind off the melon, slice in big 4x6 cubes and chunks, and chill down. I have a big cube everytime I open the fridge, and especially for breakfast. Daiquiri for dinner. Maybe some aqua fresca style smoothie, with a squeeze of lime. Nothing is more refreshing than ice cold watermelon.

What's sad, is that I used to pickle the rinds, but modern melons have next to nothing between the ripe flesh and peel anymore. Minimal rind.

I agree that this is the proper way to consume watermelon.

Yeah I was fat, topless and sweaty, standing over a drain eating watermelon like a niggoid, luckily it was dark.

the real ghetto way to do it is to crouch over a huge bowl so you can get all the juices

It may be time for early season melons but the good ones won't be here for a while yet.

I ordered this melon without reading the amazon reviews that they were sold by an unscrupulous not certified seed dealer and would probably be destroyed before seeing China Post. (customs sends a nastygram after doing the deed)
RIP Tigger Melon seeds.

And I have this idea to plant melon seeds in the marshy but soily areas of my town.
We have a tropical climate, do you think that it is silly to rogue plant food melons and other good hearty organisms?

Blueberries and raspberries are the best for that, because they're perennial and some are native to North America.

Watermelon is from the family of the pumpkins and is a fruit because of this.
