I love bubble tea, it's just that up here in the fucking cold I can only stand drinking it for like 4-5 months a year.

Some genius needs to come up with a warm bubble tea drink.

I live in SF in the Outer Richmond.

There's a Purple Kow by me, and I get boba all the time.

I like asking for extra boba because I like the texture, and also it sticks well to things. So while I'm walking around, I shoot the boba at geese, buses, and feral cats.

I also practice my aim by shooting at stop signs.

I've gotten pretty good.

I've had warm bubble tea served at a taiwanese place. It was really delicious, the tapioca balls were warm and soft and subtly sweet.

The Purple Kow over at 38th and Balboa, right?

Here's a question for you: why is T Pumps at 20th and Irving so fucking crowded all the time? Is there something about the boba tea there that is legitimately better than all the other boba tea? I walk by that place and it seems like it's always more crowded than any other boba places, even though there's like 3 other places within 2 or 3 blocks.

>> No.5291802

>>5291789
Yeah. I mean the Purple Kow is crowded as fuck right after school gets out.

And no, I think it's because Asian kids tack themselves on to any line that seems to be long. Personally I find that place super sweet, a bit too much for my taste.

It's a vicious circle.

I love bubble tea!

I remember in the last couple years or so there's more of this... poppers stuff in addition to pearls and jellies. Round things that are filled with some flavored juice, like lychee, yogurt, passionfruit, strawberry, etc. I also enjoy adding poppers if the place has any, but I get confused when I'm trying to pop poppers but instead I struggle with a pearl, or try to chew a pearl but I end up chewing at a popper. It makes drinking bubble tea more frustrating but I can't get enough of it.

>> No.5291838

Anyone in the 818 go to Bounce?
Shit load of asian kids late on weekends but the teas are good.

>> No.5291855

This stuff is easy to make. Just go to an Asian market or buy supplies online, I think I paid $7 overall for tapioca pearls and straws.

I usually make banana or honeydew milk teas.

818 here,

I went to Bounce was like 5 years ago when I was still in school. The teas were hella sweet, didn't taste anything but the fucking sugar. Needless to say was not impressed.

do you guys not have hot milk tea where you live?

I am surrounded by 6 bobba places, all whom serve slushies, teas, coffes with bobba in them.
I usually always get the hot milk tea with warm boba

I frequently go to Asian restaurants and grocers. I'm as white as the label gets. Since I don't have any social or mental disorders I don't make an ass of my self causing people to stare.

Caucasian cuisine derives from the streamlining of many other nations foods, as a way of claiming ownership; to crudely-put they also put their mark on it by making it bland as to hide the origins a bit.

Texture =/= taste, and taste is the more important of the two. Why would I want to eat something that tastes like nothing? It's a waste of calories.

Never had boba tea, love Thai Tea though.

>> No.5293442

>Texture =/= taste,

Obviously.

>and taste is the more important of the two

And that's what I'm asking about. Why? If food was simply about calories then none of the other details would matter--taste, color, texture, smell, etc. However you appreciate and enjoy many flavors. I'm assuming you also enjoy certain appearances and smells in food too. Why not appreciate texture as well?
