I've been mixing this into various drinks. It goes well with Irish tea and yerba mate. Also goes great with lemon-lime sodas or ginger ales. It adds a nice caramel vanilla flavor.

For only $12 it's a damn good mixer. While drinking it straight is tolerable I would rather sip on something else. It would make an excellent substitution for those times when people want to get drunk quickly with shots of disgusting cheap vodka/tequila.

Part of a 12-pack New Belgium Sampler. It's the only one I haven't had, and I like all of their others so far. This one is good, tastes very "green." Not too sharp like IPAs though.

Swamp Head brewery in Gainesville is really good, Pensacola Bay Brewery in Pensacola is great, Cigar City in Tampa is solid, and if you're in Tallahassee swing by Proof Brewing sometime they have some solid offerings. I was doing this for the last few years, I had a "I'm just going to do this" moment last week and I've been pretty successful so far. Ok so I got drunk twice but that's twice in an entire week. That means five full days of no drinking. The trick is to look at it like smoking (which I had to quit a few times before it stuck). Just look at those failures like accidents, you're still sticking to the plan.

We'll see how it works out, all my friends and coworkers are constantly badgering them to drink with them and I'm getting tired of staying home and watching netflix. But it's a small accomplishment, the least drunk I've been in years.

Help me out /ck/. I used to drink half a fifth 3-4 times a week. I wanted to change for the better so I started having 1-2 drinks every night and going over that maybe once a week that too socially.

Here's the problem. While I generally feel better. No hangovers. Generally better fitness. However, I'm more dependent on alcohol than ever. It's much harder to go a single day without my one drink.

So Old Gran-dad went from 86-proof to 80-proof about a year or two ago, and the apparently the quality has taken a noticeable dip according to various reviews. Anyone here familiar with the 80-proof or notice a difference in their Old Gran-dad? I would get the bonded 100-proof version, but I can't find it anywhere.

I binge hardcore 2-3 nights a week (weekends) but cut out all drinking during the week.

I also only drink light beer, no liquor and no heavy beer.

I suppose it's the best way to control it, but I'm still trying to cut back quite a bit. I'm trying to make my new rule "no drinking alone."

I really like Old Granddad. The 80 proof is a little weak, but if you're used to 80 proof stuff you won't notice anything. Though if you prefer Barrel Strength you'll likely not be crazy about it.

Just pick up the Bottled in Bond version at 100 proof. It's better. There's also a lot of 114 out there, but I actually don't like it as much as 100, and only a little more than the 80. It tastes too different.

I think people should be able to get drunk drivers licenses. As in you show up to the place, get drunk until you hit a certain number on the breathalizer and then you take a driving test. If you pass with flying colors then you can drive while legally "drunk". Some people drive just as good as normal after drinking and some people turn into total fuckups after two beers. I'll drive halfway drunk because I'm 100% confident that it does not effect my driving, but I refuse to drive while on the cell phone because I know how much it distracts me. Everyone is different.

It's kind of hard to prove. I actually don't drink that much any more, but at my worst that is how much I was drinking daily. My skin was and discolored and my shit was black as night. I barely ate because I was drinking so much. Luckily I never really got hangovers because I drank a ton of water every day, but drinking that much is a chore.

By the way, I have tried AA, but the people were so goddamn annoying I couldn't take it. I have just cut back my drinking to once or twice a month.
