I have to laugh at all these almond milk commercials I see nowadays.

They always tout how much better tasting almond milk supposedly is, but then in lovely small print it always turns out they use sweetened vanilla-flavored almond milk versus plain dairy milk.

Fuck that noise, couldn't be more obvious the stuff tastes like shit and needs to be sweetened to be palatable.

Depends what you use it for. In cereal I use unsweetened. For drinking, nothing beats chocolate almond milk.

There's just way more variety with non-dairy milks. Almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk, soy milk, hemp milk, oat milk, the list goes on and on. The diversity in textures and flavors blows cow's milk out of the water for cooking.

no it fucking isn't. I believe some calcium is good for children because it may or may not help their bones grow, but for fully grown adults it's just empty calories. Not even good calories either.
It makes some things taste better at the expense of health/low body fat. I disagree with pretty much anything else.
There's no harm to it in moderation, but it's definitely not beneficial.

Pretty sure no one is saying to replace your water consumption with milk

Regardless though there is no real reason to make sure your water consumption is mostly plain water, water is water regardless of what is dissolved in it. The normally cited X number of ounces per day includes water from all sources

Raw Animal Milk is the only substance a human could live completely on with no other nutritional source.

It's not the Raw Milk itself that gets people sick., it's when the cows in milked in unsanitary conditions, and if the milk is bottled in unsanitary conditions.

Straight from a clean udder, it's a perfect food.

But the problem is when shit enters supply stream. That is why standards are so high. But basically what commercial milk manufacturers are saying is that they cannot guarantee that at some point in the process, there wasn't shit or piss in the milk. They don' have to because they can just heat it up and viola! no more shit or piss.

Now Pasteurization kills all the bad bacteria but also kills every good bacteria in the milk. It also kills proteins, which is why some people are lactose intolerant. Humans evolved drinking raw milk, we also evolved (or were meant by God, you pick) to drink it this way. Pasteruization kills the protein that some people need to process milk (But those people are evolutionary failures, like the allergy whiners) The milk itself is fine, it's humans that cause it kill.

The farm I was getting my milk from I was able to visit, I could see the cows, see where it was milked, met the person who milked the cow. And I always felt completely comfortable because they were so open about it, but also because when I went to that farm, it didn't smell like shit. They had 10 cows, a few horses, bunch of chickens - only place I've ever been to with that many animals that didn't smell like animal. Even the barn didn't smell like a barn.
Pasteurization also kills the enzyme that ends causing people to have a lactose intolerance. Humans evolved drinking raw milk, we wouldn't still be here if it was not something natural and beneficial.

Try having nothing but yogurt any time you need to use milk. If you need it to be thin like milk, you can stir it up or put it in a blender. Stirring it breaks up the proteins.

I'd recommend learning to make your own yogurt, too. You just heat however much milk you want to 180F, cool it to 110F, add 2 tbsp of plain yogurt per quart of milk, and wait until it thickens. The first time I made yogurt with some from the store, it took 26 hours to sour. Recently, it only took 4. That means the good bacteria wasn't as active in the yogurt from the store.

After a month or so of this, try having about 1 cup of milk, and if that's okay, try going up to 2 after a while.

Humans "evolved" as a distinct species over 6 million years (after ~3 billion years of evolution) and didn't domesticate cows until Homo sapiens sapiens 10,000 years ago. That means for 5,990,000 years humans did not contain the means of processing dairy until environmental pressures such as a lack of access to fresh water or liquid from plants forced an adaptation to the enzymes in non-human milk. The humans who could now drink non-human milk lived longer and bred more and thus the lactose tolerance gene was passed down.

>Stop with the 70s style fat content is bad thing

Why do you people always act like the science we currently go by is "outdated"? Because of some fad diet like Atkins or Paleo tricking you into disbelieving established medical facts?

Fat itself is not a problem when it makes up a reasonable amount of your calories (10-30%), but the type of fat and the source of the fat matters. The fat content of most milk is terrible, it's a lot of saturated fat and no fiber to slow absorption
