/ck/, swallow food first then take a sip of your drink, or food and drink mixed together in your mouth?

>food and drink mixed together in your mouth
Why would you ever do this.

I only do it for salmon sashimi and sake, the pairing is great
but seriously though mixing for normal food is just barbaric

>not mixing bubbly carbonated soda and the crisp salty fries

It depends on what I'm eating and drinking, but I do the former far more often.

depends, if I am eating a sandwich and chips I like to alternate between sandwich bite, followed by a sandwich bite with a chip, followed by a sandwich bite with a sip, followed by a sandwich bite with a chip & sip, reverse the order and repeat. If I don't take an even amount of bites for my whole meal I force myself to throw up and try again.

Mostly separate, unless I accidentally eat something temperature hot and I need cold fast or my tongue will be unable to taste for the next week.

Pretty much the only time I will mix is milk with certain deserts that contain chocolate.

When I take a bite and chew my food, I'll take a sip of my drink also if I feel like it. I'll swallow 80% of whats in my mouth before drinking anything though.

Swallow then drink unless it's unexpectedly dry and I need the fluid to help the mouthful go down.

sipping frequently while eating isn't a good habit. it will usually result in indigestion and the discomfort the inevitably follows suit. it's OK to take an occasional small sip to cleanse your palate while eating but you really should avoid drinking during a meal.

only time this is acceptable is fries and milkshakes, together they taste good

When you find out that the food you just put in your mouth tastes disgusting so you take a big swig of whatever beverage you currently have so you can swallow that disgusting food easier and get it over with quicker.

Or when you didn't chew your food properly and then you feel like you're going to choke, a drink helps everything go down.

Aside from that, yeah, mixing food and drink is disgusting.

It's like russian roulette with food.

>> No.5121959

If I wasn't currently in or training for an eating contest/competition (or starving on a desert island) I wouldn't mix them

>> No.5122274

I do it with desserts and pastries. Like I'll take a bite of pancake, take a swig of some milk. Delicious.

And here I thought school was back in session.
