Bought this package tonight. Thought I was gonna get random bits of meat that just were scraps from fileting. Turns out that nearly every piece was full of pin bones. Whoops.

Still gonna post my dinner, because meh.

yea i know. got greedy.
this is where it all fell apart. Realized I wasn't gonna be able to combine the fish with the pasta and vegetables, so I decided to just fry em quick while adding some teryaki sauce to the vegetables to make that an almost separate dish.

I tried when it was raw, but it ended up ripping out a small chink of flesh each time. Given how small the cuts were, I figured I'd just cook em and gnaw em off the bone once cooked.

It tasted just fine, but what a disappointment.

You still lucked out, those packages are usually nothing but collars and tails.

they had "salmon bones" for 1.49/lb, but I didn't feel like making soup/stew

once, in an effort to be WOW SO ORIGINAL, I added instant coffee to my bolognese sauce. And entered it in a spaghetti & meatball contest. I was mocked relentlessly for ages.

happy ending: came back years later with a white sauce and won.

What the hell made you think that was a good idea, and why didn't you test it beforehand?

How do you manage to cut your mouth on fish bones?

If you get good at pinning, you can save a lot of money on fish.

if the bones were so big you should have took 5 minutes removing them before cooking. they go off easily even on uncooked meat you know.

Why on earth would you try to win a food contest? Each year I enter the state fair competitions for the sole purpose of making the most vile, disgusting dish that still looks and smells pleasing.

Why? Is it because you couldn't make something respectable even if you tried, so making intentional shit and entering it into a contest to be SO FUNNEE is the only way that you can get someone to even try your cooking?

My grandmother used to do it back in the 30's and it gives me something fun to do for a week out of the year.

to NOT cut my mouth? After I ate the pasta and vegetables, I gnawed on them sideways like ribs
>>5113730
i tried taking out a couple and it was taking flesh along with it. since there was such little meat to begin with, i just said fuck it
>>5113873
it's a lot more hassle. i'll just pony up the extra monies next time

I was very little when I did this:
We somehow had ice cones and an ice ball former at home so I wanted to try to make ice cream. I made balls of cream cheese (with herbs and without) and stacked them into the cones. Then I insisted my parents try my special ice cream.
I'm sorry mum.
