Not him, but this is Schlössle Spezial from Neu-Ulm, technically Bavarian.
Fun fact: the beer expired 3 weeks ago and I seem to have developed some kind of allergy, every time I drink it my throat begins to swell. I hope it's only because it's expired, it's too damn tasty to give up.
Anyway, I can still drink it without problems if I throw in an Antihistamine tablet before. Zero fucks given.

There is no other option. Celebrator is the best German beer I have ever had.

In my opinion:

>Czech Republic: MUST be a pilsner.
>USA: It's not going to be under 10% ABV, let's be real. The IIPA and RIS crowds will be fighting it out forever.
>Belgium: This is tricky, but it is certainly not Westy XII. My vote would be for a lambic. It can literally not be replicated anywhere else.
>Denmark: Pretty sure it's a bottle full of Mikkeller's fermented cum spiked with cocaine, the way people gargle that overpriced grog.
>Britain: It's probably a beer from a defunct brewery that was swallowed up by a larger company, like Fuller's or Wells and Young's. As such, it's a beer that has been in the cellar of some devout connesoir for a few decades, but that's part of what makes it the best. I mean something like the old Courage Imperial Stout or Gale's Prize Old Ale. Unmatched tradition and the ability to stand up to time, with no hope of replication by a larger company that only cares about the bottom line. I clearly care about this.

Portugal is pretty much Sagres and Super Bock. Never really got taste anything but their variations.
Theyre pretty good "Beer Brand Beer" type of beers.
I live in the states now and surprisingly a case of Sagres is about the same price of Yuengling or any other decent beer.

I didnt see it in Portugal but Sagres Bohemia is miles better than the regular one and its only about a buck more for a six pack. Ive turned a lot of people onto it and it shows since the once small case seems to grow every month.

They've become inconsistent the last few years and it is very well possible you had some from a piss poor batch. Their other stuff (seasonal, specialty) is usually really good. I think they're stretching too thin with all the stuff they try to make and its killing their quality.

OK, while we're on this subject, I've got a question for you guys: is there something wrong with me, or is Pliny the Elder the most overrated beer in existence? I admit, I'm not a huge beer guy- whiskey is more my schtick. Maybe there's just some incredible nuance I'm not getting. But I want to Russian River a couple weeks back and I preferred almost every other beer they had to Pliny, as did most of the people I was with. It's not even a very good example of an IPA. I've always said there should more to an IPA's flavor than just hops, but this is ridiculous. It doesn't even taste like an IPA, let alone a double IPA.

Don't get me wrong, it was really good, but I tasted some mindblowing beers there, and Pliny just wasn't one of them. I don't understand how anyone could call it the best beer in America. It's not even the best ale at Russian River.
