here in Germany, everything including at least one topping and two slices of bread is called a sandwich, or a Brot.
An open faced sandwich is always called a Brot (for example Käsebrot=cheese bread)
A sandwich on a bun or bread roll is called Brötchen (for example Schinkenbrötchen=little ham bread).

A curiosity is that what you Americans refer to as a chicken sandwich is called Chickenburger in Germany. At least the kind you can get at McD's, KFC etc.

In Italy we suck at making sandwhiches. Most of our sandwhiches are slices of prosciutto or mortadella or some shit and some cheese. With dry bread. Fucken shits.
It's a shame becouse we could build god tier sandwhiches (God tier deli meats, god tier cheese, god tier pickled/preserved under oil mushrooms/eggplants/tomatoes/pepper and god tier sauces (Pesto genovese, olive oil per se is bretty good on sandwhiches, spreadable cheeses or even salami (Think Ciasucolo or Nduja)).

Why the fuck would you make a dry ass prosciutto sandwhich? Take bread, sprinkle with olive oil, crush some tomatoes in that bitch (Maybe some pepper) and apply prosciutto. Now that's a prosciutto sandwhich.

Fucking americans do italian sandwhiches better than fucking italians.

This is how Nordics sandwich.

First, go to this link, and let the song start playing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmk5frp6-3Q

Close your eyes, and imagine floating in the empty depths of space. Black nothingness adorned with naught but bleak, cold, far-away stars surrounds you. And yet in the far-away blackness, ahead of you, a white object catches your attention. It is this. The voileipäkakku. It approaches at a slow, majestic glide, as if it was you that sped towards it, and grows in your vision bidding farewell to all mortal concepts of scale by its mind-bogglingly vast, deck shining with sourcream and mayo and sprinkled cranberries, intersected with streaks of bright blooming orange of the rows of cold-smoked salmon, stretching into infinity. Your speed is now terrifying as you swoop along its surface, and yet you cannot help but focus your eyes on the spectacle of food before you - sliced egg fill your vision for but a moment, to be followed by glistening, delicious salmon roe, the pickle and the onion, the snow-white backs of shrimp strewn with orange ley-lines, before yet another colossal streak of salmon sprinkled with dill and the occasional slice of lemon cosmic in scale. As you dive into its deck, you burrow through sweetish depths of rye bread, and into layers of filling fashioned of fine cream cheese, dill, onion, sour pickle and chipped warm-smoked salmon, then fluffy white wheatbread moistened with stock and a layer of a different cream cheese, heartened with the aroma of smoked reindeer, and perhaps ham, and followed by yet another layer...

This is the Capital Sandwich. This is the voileipäkakku. This is the smörgåstårta. Let your mind surrender before its presence.

that is a new orleanian staple,a "debris" (short for "roast beef and debris" po boy. Made from "debris",or fond, juices and particulates that fall off during the cooking process of roast beef. It is similar to an Italian beef sandwich. Usually Italian Beef is made with additional bouillon and occasionally even with warmed, shaved, deli beef. The new orleanian version is more like a pot roast, it makes it's own juice. sometimes the debris po boys are called "hot roast beef"
I really miss parasol's debris po boys (it's my favorite) Mother's make good ones too, they even have a version of that includes the roast beef, debris, and baked ham (not pressed ham). It is called a "ferdie".

Nigga, ain't NO real Italian beef made with fucking deli meat. They are whole roaster sirloins slow cooked in their own juices and some Italian herbs and spices, than they are cooled, sliced and reheated in the "gravy". What you appear to be talking about is someones fucked up leftovers that they didn't know what to do with so they just threw it in between some bread. However, that has nothing on the supreme incarnation of sammich'...of course being the Italian BEEF.

>> No.5053650

>>5053639
It's not 24/7. It's about 12/7. The other 12/7 is allocated to some combination of drinking and methadone injections. The trick is to minimise sick time by getting the methadone and alcohol ratio just right. Not enough methadone, and you'll sick all over your coat. Not enough alcohol and you won't be Scottish. Too much alcohol and you'll sick all over your coat all over again. It's quite the dilemma, being Scottish.

The place is called kenny & ziggy's, its by the Galleria. Its fuckin good. That pic I posted is probably their biggest sandwich but even the other sandwiches are far from skimpy.

Pic related.

spaghetti on a hot dog but is straight up retarded.

it's like eating rice with bread.

Yeah man, it's like using two pieces of bread to make a sandwich. Twice as many carbs as necessary.

If I tore the big piece in half I could make two open face sandwiches with as much meat as I want. Bacon is free on the Atkin's diet.

I wasn't really concerned as much with nutrition as the fact that it seems to be little else but spaghetti on a sandwich.

I don't understand the appeal.
