What's the most delicious high % ABV beer you've ever had? I want to drink some beer that'll get me fucked up without tasting like shit.

pic related: my choice but hard to come by where I live

>drinking to get drunk

stick to buckfast, ned.

>> No.5018753

all high alcohol beer tastes like shit (don't listen to beer "enthusiasts")
if you're drinking to get drunk, drink a low calorie beer as you will be able to drink it in higher volumes without feeling bloated
if you want something with 10%+ alcohol then drink wine

You sound underaged. Just mix rum and coca cola.

This is my all-time favorite beer, 9% ABV. The strongest beer I've had is Dogfish Head World Wide Stout, clocking in at 19% for that vintage. Like drinking a 12oz bottle of wine.

I dearly love the oak-aged releases, but alas, they aren't distributed here in Mississippi. I also enjoy a good Great Divide "Yeti" or Deschutes "Abyss", but again, can't get those here.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot isn't too strong at 9.6%, but I liked it that much that I drank a load and it did the job very well.

They make some really amazing beers. I absolutely adore the flavor profile of their Aphrodite Belgian. Almost like drinking a Rose Brut, but maybe not as fizzy.

no, it's just really bad

i don't like barleywines in general though but i can tell when something is just shit

>> No.5020568

I stumbled into some event with a guy from Deschutes Brewery there who let us taste some bottle of The Abyss that he had aged for a couple years. As far as I remember, that was my favorite beer over 10% ABV (it's 11%). I haven't tried a lot, though.

Goose Islands Bourbon County Stout was just released, its 14% and runs $20 for a 4 pack.

Wasn't goose island bought out by a larger company? It's automatically bad, despite being 14% which would otherwise make it automatically good.

I was surprised how much I liked it when they had a tasting at the store....Lots of bourbon but the high ABV does not overpower the other flavors that do come through.Served warm and savored.
