Obviously they're alive, but plants are like nature's computers, whereas animals are designed in a very similar fashion to us. A plant has no capacity for the feelings that animals do because a plant doesn't have the ability to act on whatever feelings would be there. The point of fear isn't to just make you afraid, it's your instinct forcing you to run away from a situation. Pain isn't there just to hurt, it's supposed to motivate you into doing something. Plants are immobile and even within themselves are so slow that they can't use this kind of information to protect themselves

But besides that, plant foods are our staple. Whether you think meat is good or bad for you, everyone agrees we do well eating plant foods. Meat is something we know is unneccessary in the diet, whether or not you think it's harmful, so why hurt so many creatures to eat it? It's pure greed that causes it

Like I said, even within itself it's slow as hell to react to anything. When you see a plant grab the caterpillar that's eating it and throw it off, you'll be making a case. A plant spends most of its time growing and reparing itself, this isn't something you need emotions for.

What I actually said was "they can't use this kind of information to protect themselves," referring to emotions. Scare a pig and it'll squeal and run away from you. If you scared a plant, how is it going to use that knowledge to increase its chance of survival? It isn't, it does nothing until the damage is already done, because it isn't aware of what's happening until it's happening, and after it happens all that goes on is the cells repair. It's like if you took a human and looked at everything in the body besides the brain, everything knows how to function and how to repair and maintain because if living things didn't operate without conscious instruction, you would have to think about every heart beat, every organ function, every step of food digestion, putting ATP into every cell, etc. The important part is the brain, that gives thought, and with thought comes emotions because you need thought to utilize emotion. Plants don't have this.

Guys, how come the law says I can kill and eat both plants and animals, but I can only sodomize plants, not animals?
