A snifter-like glass is useful for beers that are meant to either be kept ice cold or served quite warm.
I don't think I've seen beer served in any other vessel. If you've seen other than the ones you listed and the snifter-like thingy, tell me about them, please?

The shaker pint you've posted is literally the worst beer glass for head retention. There are much better pints.

>>4935458
Pilsners and Lagers should be served in Pilsner glasses. They are tall skinny glasses that show off the color clarity and carbination.

The English Pint glass is a 20oz glass. It has a ridge towards the top. These are easy to make and store, and many beers should be served in them. They are preferred to the shaker pint so you can actually poor a real head.

A weizen glass or wheat beer glass is similar to the pilsner glass. It is tall and skinny to show off the color of the beer body, but has a wider opening to better accommodate the head and get a better aroma. These beers are sexy.

The Tulip glass was developed for Belgians. It has a wide bottom like a snifter glass, but comes together and then v's back out. Because its a smaller glass, high alcohol content beers are served in tulips. Like a snifter it traps the aromas in the bottom bowl, and will warm the beer a little. However the Tulip glass will retain a better head than a snifter.

A snifter might be preffered over a Tulip if there is a reason to agitate your beer. Snifters usually have larger volume allowing you to swirl the beer which can bring out different aromas or flavors in the beer.

What is the name of a pint glass that is thin around the bottom, but widens at the top, like a Guinness pint? I like them for any drink just because they have a wider top that makes it feel much more secure in my hand than shakers, which if they get any condensation, are prone to slipping out of my hands

According to that site, Yard House is mostly a SoCal thing with another cluster in New England and then a handful of locations scattered sparsely across the rest of the country in a few states. So, yeah, most people aren't going to know what the fuck it is.

White Castle is carried in grocery stores. Yard House beer is not. And, yeah, a lot of people have never heard of Jack in the Box. Oddly, the average midwesterner doesn't frequent /ck/ to learn about strangers' favorite fast food, much less the average non-American.

Uh-huh. It's terrible not living in a pretentious overpriced shithole. I can barely live with myself sometimes. Then I remember that my city has more theaters per capita than anywhere but Manhattan and some of the best education, public broadcasting and healthcare in the country and that I'd prefer everyday quality of life over being able to use the term "flyover country" unironically while eating a burger slightly better than McDonalds.

You guys are really cute sometimes when you talk about places you've never been.

A little note on setting it down.
The Belgian beer Kwak uses a similar design, and this is how they handle it.

Often called the Irish or Imperial Pint Glass. Preferred over the shaker because 20oz, real head and such. Lots of breweries like to sell in Imperial pints. Nonic or British pints (the ones with the ridge) are preferred by busy bars because the ridge makes them easy to stack/unstack.
