I made a mistake and forgot to put the sour cream back in the fridge. Left it out overnight. Is it still good to eat?

It may have gotten...

I have no idea OP, I can't be there to smell it for you. Use your senses. If it smells OK and doesn't look odd, then it's probably fine.

The pig's stomach where it was made wasn't refrigerated

This isn't a question that has a definite answer. It's probably okay, it might make you sick, it might kill you (extremely unlikely). Up to you to weigh the risks and benefits.

Smell it. You can always know dairy went bad if it smells sour.

>> No.4905986

Honestly, it's probably okay. It's cultured, and cultured items will take longer to "turn" at room temp than fresh dairy. Hell, even butter can be left at room temperature for a long long time, as long as it's protected from the elements. Was the sour cream covered, or was it sitting open? If it was covered with a lid or whatever, I'd just stick it in the fridge now. If it was left sitting open, I'd trash it because you don't know what could have flown/fallen in there and it has a higher possibility of being contaminated.

i dunno, sour cream seems to grow mold very easily.

even if it's been refrigerated, it seems to turn into blue fuzz within just 2 weeks.

I had eaten month old sour cream before...I left it on the counter once or twice too. No mold.

Holy fuck you faggots have no idea who is or isn't American.
