hey /ck/, i've never even been to this board before, so sorry if im not asking this in the right place.
But I would like to know, how would one go about cooking pinto beans and white/brown rice over a campfire? Please direct me to a different board if I'm in the wrong one.

Pour the beans and rice into a bowl and sharpen a stick. Pierce a marshmallow with the stick and empty the bowl into the fire, gently rotating the marshmallow slightly above the flames until golden brown. Pull it off between squares of graham crackers and chocolate, and wait a minute for the marshmallow to cool and the chocolate to soften before eating.

Water boils at the same temperature no matter what is underneath it...

So soak your beans for at least 8 hours, boil for 35+ minutes, then add your rice and boil for 10 (if not an unhulled rice), then cover and let sit for 10.

Bonus points if you can simmer instead of boil.

This was the best laugh i've had not only on /ck/, but on 4 chan in like a year.

This anon has it right, the key is to soak the beans. Be careful about the beans though as protein forms when you soak them and when you boil them off, so you should only soak them in the morning to eat them at night, or night->morning ect.

You can get water to boil hotter if you add salt or use a pressure cooker.

So what you're trying to say here is, an anti tea party protest is, what now? Something about fedoras?

Does that even make sense?

It can also boil cooler by removing atmosphere and creating a vacuum. Amazing isn't it?
