So tomorrow I'll be driving to my friend's place for a cookout, and I have marinated two fillets of tilapia for blackened fish -- salt, pepper, lemon zest, honey, etc.
The question is, the car ride will be one and a half hours long. Will the fish go bad? What's the best way to store them in my trunk? Do I need an ice box?
Thank you!

That is generally the best way to keep fish cool on the road. If you're going to a cookout, are you taking a cooler? Or even if you're not, a small one would for just 1.5 hours. Just tightly seal in the fish and then put it on top of the ice and you will be fine.

Ice boxes are great for your trunk period. Good way to transport cold stuff you buy from the supermarket if you live a ways away.

Turns out I don't have an ice box. what's a good way to keep the fish fresh without one?

Wrap with aluminum foil, shiny side facing out. Put into any container with ice/ice packs/frozen water in bottles. Wrap in blankets.

>Wrap with aluminum foil, along with the marinade. Throw it on top of your car's engine and cook it on the way over
