Can we talk about Kitchen Products from infomercials?

The Squeezy Freezy looks nice.

Also have "Miracle Blade III"

They're shit knives, but they do cut i you need something really cheap in the meantime while you're shopping for a good set of Forschner or Henkel knives.

They're all serrated, so you can saw through anything, but I like to be able to pull a knive back and cut a steak off a ribeye with one stroke, or be damned close to it. Everytime I'm using them and I'm not satisfied, I say, "Chef Tony lied to me"

I have a SLAP CHOP

it's okay i guess

but usually it's too small/weak to SLAP CHOP most of my vegetables

you have to cut them up with a knife before they fit in the SLAP CHOP

so you're left wondering why you should bother switching to the SLAP CHOP once you've already got the knife out, dirty, and halfway through prepping a vegetable

>> No.4848687

I wonder how the black and white overdramatized failure with a red cross blinking over it got so popular as a means of telling someone "this ain't good".

I like infomercials. They're like tiny slice-of-life B-movies with even worse production values. Particularly if they're about a kitchen product trying to revolutionize something that doesn't, in any way, need revolutionizing.

RIP Billy.

That almost looks usable when compared to most of the other stuff you see around.
At least when you need moderate amounts of uniform bits.

Same thing when it comes to devices like the Slap Chop, though. If the quantity is small enough, and the produce large enough, you're going to have to do some preliminary cuts with a knife anyway, and then it'd probably be less hassle to just use the knife.
