I want to make a low quality tomato soup. What I mean by that is I don't want it to be mostly tomatoes. It should have tomatoes' acidity, it should taste like there are tomatoes in it, there shouldn't be a bigger dominating flavor but it should not be pureed tomatoes.

What am I looking for?

Uhhh, you're looking to saute other vegetables with the tomatoes before pureeing?

Tomato water? You can make it using any canned tomato product, from whole to paste. Just add water!

What are you asking? I could throw you my recipe if you like, done it this way around 30 times.

If I want to make a quick tomato soup, I first make a roux and then put some tomato paste in it. Pour water over it, and then put herbs and stockcubes for the taste, otherwise it will be very bland.

(things I use are bay leaf, dried chilli, thyme, mace)

>mace
well that was random...

Add a can of whole tomatoes to:
chicken or beef. It just enhances it.

english is not my first language, so I put the word through google translate and it said mace.
to be honest, I'm a bit sceptic about the translation too, but I don't know the english word for it. Here is a picture of 'mace'. We call it 'foelie'.

That is the correct translation, mace is a well-known spice in English; but it's not commonly added to tomato soup.

It's an old family recipt, it gives a really nice, mild flavour to it all/

Oh, I forgot, you have to put the spices in a little bag, a kind of tea-bag, because it isn't that nice to bite in it. I use a coffee filter, and close it with toothpicks.
