Hey there guys. I enjoy growing fresh veggies for my meals. Not a lot of space here but I managed to do well this summer. I just planted my fall crops (late I know but it's been really warm here). Got down some kweik lettuce, freckled lettuce, spinach, mini butternut squash, and Lima beans. What does /ck/ grow?

Pic related, it's from my garden this summer

Nope, Kentucky. I know that sounds like i have space to grow, but I live in the biggest city here in an urban area. Backyard gardening through intelligent space utilization. I do have some container plants, but most are in the soil.

I really want to try one day when I have the patience, land and materials. It'd be a lot cheaper than going to the farmer's market whenever I want to make a delicious stew.

I would like to experiment as well.

Here's a feherezone pepper and two nardellos, which I've read are endangered. The nardellos are fantastic frying peppers. Thin walled and sweet as can be.

Depends on variety. The larger tomatoes are Big Beef tomatoes, which started producing after about 6 or 7 weeks. The smaller red tomatoes are baby romas, which took about 5 weeks to get going. The green ones are tomatillos. They produced like crazy! Tons of them after just over 4 weeks. They loved the summer heat. The peppers are jimmy nardellos which took probably ~8 weeks to reach maturity.

my fall garden starts with brassicas and lotttts of em. brocolli cauliflower and brussel sprouts to start. also yellow squash should harvest before freeze. lettuces kale and chard in the greenhouse hydroponics. i have about 10 potted peppers i want to overwinter but greenhouse isnt big enough for 4 foot tall plants everywhere, so most will have to die. makes me sad.
glad you garden op.

(i grow nothing in the ground)

Wow that's not long at all, I was expecting maybe 4 months or so.

It looks like you could create a nasty sauce from thar produce.

Do you use aquaponic? If so how much did the entire system set you back?

Of course we grow our own food here. I grew about 1,300-1,500 pounds of food this year and still have stuff to harvest.

So do you do it as a living? I can't imagine an garden hobbyist having the land to do that.

Officially, I'm a farmer, but I spend more time on 4chan than actual farming. Turns out farming is a pretty lazy profession. lol

Yes sir, sauces galore. I scored a kitchen aid for 100 bucks so I've been making my own pizzas from scratch (more or less)

Here's home grown broccoli and carrots cooking in a bulgogi sauce

The closest to growing food I've been was growing pot back in my teen years.

I imagine growing food is a ton easier and less stressful huh? Because I'd really like to start growing fruits, veggies and beans but I wouldn't know where. I live in the city, so no land.

I know that feel, back in the day I wanted to grow coffee beans.

Then I realized it's seriously not worth all the effort and time for like 3 cups of coffee.

Maybe one day I'll grow strawberries and lemons...

there are plenty of ways to city garden. this is one tecnique i use with 3 gallon buckets. if you have sun and a balcony. to most people its not worth it though.

Is this seriously even a "feel" that you have? You can start a garden almost anywhere.
