I left a tub of margerine out overnight by accident because drunk. Is it safe to eat if it doesn't smell bad? Temperature has been stable here at about 23-25 celsius.

Google suggests conflicting results. I would've imagined unsafe to eat due to growth of bacteria as it's a dairy product.

It's probably safe

It's not a dairy product. It's hydrogenated oil.

Curiously, how come it says CONTAINS DAIRY on it?

People leave butter dishes out on their counter all the time. I'd imagine, if anything, margarine would be safer to leave out just because it's mostly chemicals.

It says CONTAINS DAIRY on the side, therefore it's a dairy product.

The reason it says CONTAINS DAIRY is for people that have allergies to dairy. The amount of dairy that MIGHT be in it is so minimal, it should be of no concern to you.

Alright, thanks for the clarification.

Overnight is okay. It might separate a little bit, but it won't make you sick. Milk dairy v high fat anerobic difference too.

If you want to pitch it, it aint much money. If you want to bake with it, to save it, go ahead. You can even just use it to grease a /pan.
