So i had an idea this morning, get this.

You following me? Good.

Wait for it.

Deep dish burgers.
It's a burger with raised edges that the top bun would fit snugly into. I just need to find a way to cook it so it holds the right shape/Is cooked thoroughly.

Chicago plz, you are drunk again. Remember what happened last time you drank and made that pizza cake thing. You even forgot to put the sauce on the crust before the cheese and just dumped it on top of the cheese.

Plz, go to bed and make a burger tomorrow.

Sorry, i was in the kitchen brainstorming.

So like. It will have a "Lip" that the bun sits on. With a space beneath, to accommodate less-than-solid toppings. Like chili or cheese sauce.

It could also serve to hide the middle patties in multilayred burger.

How the hell do you even hold this thing if the burger patty encompasses the top bun? I know you don't expect me to eat that shit with a knife and fork, do you? That kinda defeats the whole purpose of a 'sandwich'. Nigga, you just went full openface. Throw some hamburger on a deep dish pizza and call it a day. Better yet, throw some hamburger and cheese into a taco or bread bowl. Now that's more like it.

OP how deep you wanna make the patties, or even patty* if you wanna make a giant burger-pie, you could fill it quite a bit and make a really fucked up greasy boigah. I love me some delicious chili (maybe even some ground meats in the chili), hell you could make a mushroom swiss boigah that's loaded, too.
Maybe make the inside quiche-like for the ultimate egg-burger?

A regular patty is flat. These patties are deep. They can hold more shit that way.

>> No.4827939

I don't exactly see the point, but the technique isn't too tricky. Get a really small stainless steel steamer basket about the size of your top bun, form the patty around the outside and bake then broil it while still molded to the basket. That way you'll retain the shape even through some shrinkage.

>> No.4828752

/diy/ here. You can make your own burger fryer easily. Make a two-part hinged mold with handle for the burger patty that will shape it into the cup form you want. you can make it out of wax or foam then sandcast it using aluminum. After that you can bake enamel onto it. when you design this mold you should leave holders/grooves for installing some kanthal heating element wire (or salvage some heating coils from a hair dryer). Install the heating coils on the bottom and top of the burger mold, wire them up for 110v usage. Screw on some cover plates, add a hinge pin, and you'll be ready to make all the cupped burgers you want. Just roll up a ball of hamburger, heat up the fryer, place it in the fryer, clamp it closed with the handles, and cook until done.

If you don't like electric stuff then you can metalcast one like in this image only have the top cover to make the burger cupped. Then just place it on the stove top and cook.

Second thought, just get a couple muffin pans, put hamburger in the cups of one, and smash the second one on top of it. Bake them in the oven this way. Cupped burgers.

Better than the time Chicago tried to make hot dogs.
They smother them in so much garbage that its hard to tell if they even remembered to put a hot dog on it to begin with.
