Liverwurst sandwiches are the bee's knees. Pic related, the last one I had, which was so tasty, I had to capture it's image forever. (liverwurst, limburger, red onions, pickles, and mustard on rye).

I have no sense of smell at all and I still blanched at the mere thought of the funk.

I don't know why people think liverwurst or limburger stink. I avoided limburger for years because everyone said it stank, but when I finally found my cajones to try it, it was pretty mild smelling, and it has a creamy, rich taste. I've smelled other cheeses that were much stronger.

I have a Blutwurst (blood sausage) sitting in my fridge, which is very tasty. But a Liverwurst is fine, too!

I love me some limburger smeared on rye with red onions. I also enjoy liverwurst on rye with red onion and mustard. The thought of combining the two never occurred to me.
