Fuck I love cake so much; especially baked cheesecake.

Shit man, I like black forest cake a lot but apple tea cake is something I've always enjoyed too. Then when cheesecakes come into the picture I just get too hungry to think, I need something sweet in me.

I was excited for a minute, OP, cuz I thought that was seafood "cake" (use white bread recipe instead of sweet cake recipe and salmon mousse as frosting or something), but no.
I would eat a seafood cake.

Yeah Thought of cuzza chocolate rationing. Theres beat pulp in real ones, and it makes it really moist and dense. and thats where the red comes from.

supermarket ones dont have it, and in my opinion aren't real. They're just red cakes.

"When foods were rationed during World War II, bakers used boiled beet juices to enhance the color of their cakes. Beets are found in some red velvet cake recipes, where they also serve to retain moisture."

from wikipedia

And it does. Very heavy, moist cake. And if you look at a recipe that uses beats(a real one), you'll see that the amount of beets compared to the volume of batter would really have to have some effect on the consistency of the finished product.

>do you have cake at funerals?
They have finger foods, sandwiches, and desserts at most funerals I've attended, including small pieces of cake.

My family just uses it as an excuse to get together, be thankful, and remember a terrible event that changed our lives. It isn't really weird to get together for support and include a kind of feast. That is a cross-cultural phenomenon.

Haven't tried what's in the pic. But I like cakes which are a treat for the tastebuds AND the eyes. I mean, any standard cake, when decorated decently, looks enticing enough. But I like it when cake decorators take it to another level without sacrificing the taste.

The organs in the pic are made of different kinds of cake and the ribs are just white chocolate, I think.

They aren't parties as in celebrations. It really isn't that odd and stems from the fact that my sister was working in NYC and it took us hours to get a hold of her. The whole family ended up meeting together for the first time in a while to see her and each other.

Since then it became a tradition to meet up as a family on that day.

The epitome of Cake Science.

Has to have the exact, precise ratio of pastry to cream. A milligram too much cream, and it's disgusting and sickening. A milligram too little cream, and it's a dry, tasteless carboard-like substance.

Once upon a time, I was drinking heavily and I decided I wanted to bake a cake. I preheated the oven to ???. I mixed up some flour and milk and an egg and some water and some sugar and a little bit of vodka and something from the spice cabinet that I couldn't see correctly.
I poured it into a pan and then I blacked out. I woke up in the closet, I walked out into the kitchen expecting a mess and I found a perfectly baked and frosted chocolate cake. I felt like a god until my roommate came back and told me that he found me in the shower with a bowl of sugar, apple juice, and strawberry jam, continually stirring it whilst babbling about baking a sweetass cake. He threw that out and told me he was going to the store to get a real cake. Supposedly, I told him that I loved him, vomited, and then gave him a double thumbs up. He came back, thought I went to bed, and left the cake on the counter.

I felt so bad when I remembered that I pissed in one of the drawers of his desk.
