The texture is a lot like butter if butter could stay firm at room temperature. Avocado used to be called "poor man's butter". I love them and my roommate hates them - he doesn't like the texture and they remind him of fatty soft-cooked eggs. Whatever though, I never have to worry about him eating my expensive, delicious avocados.

I ate an avacado, tasted like a fucking cooked egg but cold, it was fucking vile and I puked every two hours for the rest of the day. Definitely rotted but I can't even eat eggs or guacamole without gagging. How do I stop being a faggot and get over it? I start choking up once I see either

I would say they are a little bit bland if you eat them plain.
I always think they need a little bit of acidity, like citrus in guacamole or vinegar in a salad.

No, regrettably not. I know what you were getting at but these 'statements of fact' virtually always (95%+?) lead to stupid arguments back and forth or outright shitposting: beans in chilli, I rest my case.

I've never been a big fan of avocados but guacamole is the best thing ever... with totopos to eat it. At least 3 people have told me that I make the best guacamole they ever tasted. I got the recipe from a mexican cooking course I went to and it's almost the same as that of a lady who won a famous guacamole competition.

Usually I can't stand the taste of avacados, but here's a recipe that makes them tolerable.

Ingredients:
2 eggs
Splash of milk
chorizo sausage
salsa
cheddar cheese
scallions
3 small russet potatoes
olive oil
salt
ground pepper

Instructions:
Break eggs into a small bowl, add milk and whisk to aerate the beaten eggs. Pour into a small frying pan and cook until the bits touching the pan are cooked a few milimetres through. Add slices of chorizo on top of the egg/milk mixture, and salsa and cheese to taste. Fold the mixture over, locking the sweet mexican goodness inside. Meanwhile, chop up the potatos into quarters, and toss in olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste and then bake on a flat tray at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Serve roastatos on the side of the egg pie, and enjoy.

Have you tried it with Quinky sauce? Something special happens when you marry these flavors.

Quinky sauce adds tang and subtlety. Just need equal parts soy sauce, kewpie mayo, coriander, and a ketchup/mayo mix. It's fucking awesome.
