I didnt cook the rice long enough, it needed about two more minutes and I either didnt add enough spice to it or added too much water but the liquid wasnt that thick to add to the rice

I just ate a salad of peach, green apple, red onion, toasted flaked almonds, grilled chicken, basil and carrot. The dressing was lemon juice, brown sugar, salt and chili sauce. I felt it was missing something though. Anyone got any ideas?
