You must travel to the place where your scotch was made. You have to find the natural body of water that your scotch originated from and walk there barefoot in a show of respect and humiliation.

Upon finding it, you must fast for 2 days and nights while praying. Then, when your soul is clean, you must discard all of your clothes and scrub yourself in the holy water of your scotch using a large pumice stone.

Upon doing so, you must sleep in a nest of Scott's pine boughs. At first light, set out to find, track, and kill a large native ungulate that has drunk from the holy water. After feasting on its flesh cooked from a fire made out of driftwood collected at the edges of the sacred waters, you must create a pouch out of the animal's stomach.

they melt half as fast, they cool at what seems to be the same rate, and they're twice as cool to look at.

The cooling rate is probably due to the fact that they displace so much liquid so you can't flood the glass. Personally I love them. Although giant square ice cubes are pretty fun too.

I don't know, maybe it's the very thought of drinking something expensive and aged for two decades that gets people excited? I usually like the more pronounced flavors of the younger stuff (I like laphraoig's peat), but like many people say, the flavors get more mellow and more "complex" as they age, and there's barely much peat in a 30 year old Laphraoig (or maybe the one I had was fucked, I dunno). It was good, but it wasn't something I wanted.

you can give Talisker 10 year a shot, not too expensive (but not really that cheap either, a bit cheaper than lagavulin 16). Good balance between peaty, sweet, and a touch of coast iodine.
