>yfw there are people on /ck/ RIGHT NOW who don't believe that black olives are the GOAT fruit

>> No.4623568

those are faggot black olives

>> No.4623579

I like black olives, but they're just a flavor enhancer to be used sparingly

>has to be soaked in brine for like a month before you can eat it
>salty and fatty as fuck by the end of it

For culinary versatility and taste, tomatoes are the best fruit. If we're talking raw-dog, best fruit is up for grabs. I like bananas and dates

Every holiday I fill up on black olives while waiting for dinner.

>Kalamata olives are hipster

Are you 15 years old?

>> No.4624457

Could someone explain the appeal of olives to me? They just taste like briny minerals to me and I don't get the appeal of that flavor.

>> No.4624460

olives are extremely delicious, and I'mma let you finish, but...

the GOAT fruit is the tomato

>> No.4624477

Olives suck dick and so do the people who like them. The only good thing coming from an olive is the oil, and eventual firewood from the tree.

Do all olives taste minerally to you? Kalamata definitely have that taste (some people like, some people hate) but the cheap store brand black olives you get in the canned isle are just salty, fatty with a very mild savory taste.

My favorite is a combination of olives, jalapenos carrots and spices as found in olive tapenades.

>tomatoes are fruit

While technically correct, the fact both of you choose your favorite fruits "just happen" to also be the two fruits least likely recognized by normal people makes you both insufferable douches.

Everyone knows tomatoes are fruit, get over yourself.

Botanically, yes. Culinarily speaking tomatoes more often are treated like vegetables. I think you'd get weird looks from most people if you answered with tomatoes when someone asked you what your favorite fruit was. Ditto for olives.

Indeed. Balls are touching.

Which means yes.

How you prepare a food for consumption is, I think, more important than its scientific classification. I don't correct people when they call almonds nuts because for all intents and purposes they are nuts. Nobody asks you what your favorite drupe is.

>needs to be prepared before it can be eaten
>GOAT fruit

The best fruit is the kind you can pick from a garden and eat fresh off the plant.

>> No.4624600

Hey /ck/ you know the GOAT animal? Sponges.
Hey /ck/ you know the GOAT oil? Rapeseed.
Hey /ck/ you know the GOAT legume? Peanuts.
I'M SO GOSH DARN SMART BECAUSE I HAPPEN TO LIKE THIS THINGS AM I RIGHT CK?

Next time put "trigger warning" in your message so I can filter it.

If I fucked you in the ass with a hammer, that doesn't make it a dildo. It's still hardware.
