(WOW I didn't even realize I was in reply mode.....)

I really don't know how to explain the feeling, but anyone have a strange love for fantasy adventure-ish foods. It's probably all romanticised in my head, but gosh dangit if after reading or playing some games if I don't want to make a spread like that. via http://hchom.com/

ITT: Share the feel, or recipes of the sort.

I've made several interpretation recipes of lembas bread, just a sweet honey bread from what they have it as, but doing a quick search this one actually looks like bread.

I know that feel OP. And I eat that kind of stuff all the time. Nothing like some good hard cheeses and cured meats along with a dark, crusty bread and a smoky red wine. Making myself hungry thinking about it. That's also the kind of food I eat when I travel. It's simple and doesn't require refrigeration or anything, you just cut/tear off however much you want to eat.

You can totally make delicious gingery spiced apple cider. It's not even difficult.

Shouldn't be too hard if you stick with something simple. The main challenge is having a storage space at the right temperature and humidity, but an old chest freezer can handle that, as commonly done in the home brewing scene.
I've never actually done it myself, but definitely something I'd like to try, along with cheese making.

Here's what Bilbo served the Dwarves in the Hobbit. Jackson was pretty faithful to the books and it turns out all of this fantasy food was based on Middle ages era British food.

According to Wikipedia lembas may have been modeled on bannock bread. Try it or another variety of quickbread? Soda bread is pretty easy to make.

When I read Game of Thrones, I would always get hungry as fuck whenever any of them ate anything. I would enjoy the fuck out of a flagon of wine, some freshly roasted meat, a brick of cheese, and some good bread. Fuck me.

I have several links saved from a tumblr devoted to food from video games (I'm sharing the ones from elder scrolls)

Alright.

Norse food:

-http://www.housebarra.com/EP/ep07/05banquet.html

Other medieval recipes:
-http://medievalcookery.com/recipes/ (just click on the country or category)

Ales and Meads, respectively:
- http://www.brew-monkey.com/recipes/recipesbycat.php?id=10 (these are all American ales)

Personally, I like the meads better than the ales, but that probably comes down more to personal taste.

And if anyone wants recipes from other games, I can probably find them.

Bought this in a museum in France.

It's boar cooked with apples, a Gaul meal. I ate it with this small bottle of reproduced Gallo-Roman wine I bought in the same place.

It was good. Bittersweet and spicy.

Shit, I know that feeling all too well. I've attempted a mead based around a Skyrim recipe which turned out really tasty (grilled leeks too, but that's hardly worth mentioning since they're so easy and not exclusive to the game), and eventually I want to plan a dinner party based around the opening scene from The Hobbit. http://recipewise.co.uk/tea-in-the-hobbit The great thing about a lot of high fantasy novels is that when they mention food, it's usually based off realistic medieval recipes.

Basically, I share your feel.
