I had this on the other day. Forgot about it and when I went back there was this secret shopper show about restaurants? This dude, the host. Just looking at him I wanted to turn the TV off. But once he opened his mouth every bone in my body wanted to beat him to death. And it just got worse. I swear to god, he was the most pompous, arrogant, idiotic douchbag I had ever seen. Even worse then that cake guy.

He's a terrible host, but some of the places he 'finds' are actually really goddamn good.

However, in some cases, the fame goes to their heads or the place gets so popular that getting a reservation to sit at a small town bar and grill a week ahead seems like the only method to actually eat there.

Went to one place he visited, was a small little burger and pulled pork place. Enough chairs for about, eh, 20 people. Line was out of the door and down the street. It was good, but it did require waiting for over an hour for a pulled pork sandwich and slaw. You have to balance waiting time and just how much you want to eat at these places.

He shares some great tips and generally has an objective approach as to how to make good food, while managing to not be too strict or anything. It's pretty good presentation, I don't think you understand how he's trying to appear. Because what you described sure as hell isn't how he tries to appear.
