Rub lemons on them to help cover the smell and maybe flush some of it out or rub a stainless steel spoon or pot on them under running water to remove the oils and compounds.

That should get rid of the garlic smell. But may introduce a new problem.

Salt.
Use Salt and liquid soap.
It helps for onion, garlic, whatever.
