There's more types of gravy in America.

Brown gravy - believe this is similar to UK. Made from roast drippings

Cream / Sawmill gravy - adds cream to the gravy, usually made from breakfast sausage drippings

Red-eye / CoCola gravy - drippings are deglazed with coffee or coca-cola, then the roux is added
