There's a shitton to learn. I've been enjoying "Great Wine Made Simple" by Andrea Robinson. Great for learning what kinds of wines are made from which kinds of grapes, how climate/other factors affect the end product, how to order shit in from a wine list, and how to decipher the bullshit on wine labels. The tone of the writing is off-putting in a way that I can't quite put my finger on, but otherwise recommended.

"The Drops of God" is also highly educative (seriously). Ridiculous, but educative.

>whiskey
Don't know of any good resources, but going to restaurants and ordering some flights is a great way to familiarize yourself without having to commit to buying one of every bottle from a liquor store.

Ditto for wine—go to a decent restaurant and order a glass. Bonus points if the joint has knowledgeable staff, or anything resembling a sommelier.

Find a good liquor store. Staff will be more than happy to talk wine. This is especially helpful because price has only a tenuous relationship with quality.

>coffee
I have no idea. I drink all kinds, but never got around to really studying it.

>tea
This is 'murka, boy.

For tea stick to loose leaf.

If you're in America chances are you're going to have to order online for decent stuff. I suggest uptontea.com

For black tea, steep it in boiling water for 4-5 minutes
For green tea, steep in 180 degree water for 2-3 minutes.
For white tea, steep just like green tea.

If you buy some legit loose leaf you can steep tea leaves up to 2-3 times (increase the steeping time for a minute each time) and it becomes cheaper in the long run.

You can't learn about tea if you're American?

No. All God-fearing 'Murkins drink coffee. The stains on our enamel are our last line of defense against the return of the British.

I thought they taught this in Civics.

Whiskey takes some time to "get," especially Scotch. Probably best to start out with bourbon or irish whiskey as you can find reasonably high-quality, easy-drinking bottles at affordable prices.

As far as online resources, check out ralfy on youtube. Dude really knows his stuff, links to tons of websites, has something like 350 reviews and answers most questions.

I've actually heard brits complain about how we all have perfect teeth.

Coffee *does* stain your teeth, especially if you drink a lot of it and don't sandblast your enamel afterwards.

You all should be familiar with "Dune":
>It is by coffee alone I set my mind in motion
>It is by the juice of the java bean that thoughts acquire speed.
>The teeth acquire stains; the stains become a warning.
>It is by coffee alone I set my mind in motion.

For coffee check out Sweetmaria's

For whiskey, check out Richard Paterson on ytb

penn & teller taught me that wine is pretentious and vaccines are dangerous. let's all buy limited edition "vintage" beers and age them just like wine while bragging about how obscure we're being, because that's not pretentious at all.

Complaining about "perfect teeth"? Or those weird, huge, fluorescent white gameshow host teeth?

Because those are more comically ridiculous than perfect.

wut. I hope that's not your genuine opinion about the penn&teller shit, because that's the exact opposite of what the episodes were about.
